Hi Zsolt, Your comment was well meaning but I think you missed my point. I don't believe we should have to wait 24 hours, when the booking is MADE within 72 hours off arrival. For bookings 2 months, or 2 weeks away. i already do as you suggest.
My question was, "I wonder how many of you, once you are finally able to reenlist your own room, are left with it vacant, when its currently 48 hours to check in. "
I would love to hear your thoughts.
I know its different for booking within the last 24 hours. Why can't this feature be extended to bookings within one week of arrival.?

Yes Robert, They use our monies to devour us. I wonder how long before we get the, "Due to rising costs which we have absorbed for blah blah blah, we have unfortunately been forced to raise commission rates to etc"

Well, Pottsofflemingate, I don't know why you believe Booking.com is a very good company. They have had countless complaints about Anonymous reviews and have done nothing.to stop them. When I first started this thread a customer service officer would sometimes make a comment, even that has stopped. Booking.com are charging you 15% +/- to get you bookings, they use a small portion of your potential booking to advertise themselves on sites to take bookings from your website and you enjoy dealing with them. Great. To me they are parasites.
Thank you all for your input and agreeing to my comments to have anonymous reviews stopped. Booking.com's staff often make comments in these forums, but have remained silent now for over six months on this topic.
Previously at the end of surveys Booking.Com sent to us all, their last question would be, 'If you had 5 minutes with our General Manager, what would you say?' Well their General Manager has obviously lost her ability to read!
I really want to respond to Brooke from the Communities Team. You mention in your comment about the importance of privacy protection for guests.
A simply statement by Booking.com on the review page stating, "If you want to remain Anonymous, that's fine, however, your review will only go to the property and will not be seen by the public.
If you want your review published your review must show at least your first name plus your Booking number."
That covers the privacy act.
A booking number allows the property to identify and fix a problem, or to personally thank a reviewer for taking the time to do the review.
I further believe only published reviews, with a name and booking number, should count towards a properties review score.
Brooke, properties need protection as well as guests.
I received an email yesterday from another property, warning that a local real estate agent was writing poor reviews, scoring 2/10, on review sites about properties were the managers held their own real estate licenses,
It was noticed because in one she mistakenly used her own name.
When questioned she admitted to having never stayed at the property, but because the owner held a full license, he was potentially costing her sales.
Thanks to all of you that have agreed that anonymous reviews benefit no one. Certainly they can't help a property improve.
Booking.com is proactive in its research and is in the forefront with on line visibility, However it is slow to react to any type of request to change things.
Maybe next time we complete a survey that they keep asking to complete at the end, were they say, "If you had 5 minutes with the General Manager, what would you say?"
