It depends what kind of property you have. But I agree with Guesthousejohor.
I have 2 rooms apartment, I allow 1 night stay and if I get family of 4 persons staying for one night I get very good nightly price and I am happy cleaning after them. If only 2 persons stay so I get less money and it's not so nice to have 1 night stays :)
Sharonpowney offered a good option. But you can also login with your app or desktop and in Calendar just change min stay to 1 night for those gaps and set higher price. I suppose you have like few gaps during a month so it will take you 10-15min per month to login to extranet and change min night stay and price in calendar.
But I would say if you are doing alright and you are happy with your occupancy % when don't do these 1 night stays. Just rise your regular price by few £ and at the end of the month you will earn a little more but will have these 1 night gaps free when you will be able to clean everything without stress :)
Noraesquivel515, if you cannot agree with guests, just write to Booking in Extranet or better call them and tell your situation.
Because you cannot accommodate 18-22 guests so you can ask Booking to find other place for them, they will contact guests and should find some solution. Of course there might be some relocation expenses as I wrote in my messages above, but you are having 10nigths stay it won't hurt you much.
Sante in Extranet near that reservation you should see that Payment was made on XX August, 2018.
And booking.com will pay you next month till 16th of September.
So basically you have added one property with "3 rooms/apartments" ?
If this would be 3 properties each with one apartment maybe it would be better?
But what you can do now is take a picture of building and add it to listing photos, so people will see that this is not a hotel.

I had overbooking one time and called to booking.com for relocating guest. It was 1month before his arrival, he was relocated however for next month I got invoice for ~25EUR for relocating expenses :)
Funny because it's 1 month before his arrival, so he is not near my apartment door, so he would need to take additional taxi, anyway he would need to take a taxi from airport to any apartment or if he is with his own car so it doesn't matter for him at all to which apartment to go. But I got 25EUR to pay, it was not big deal as I had 2 weeks stay for that period.
But for one night it might be too expensive.
Another option what you could try is to find apartment nearby so it would be similar or better quality and book it for that person, so when he comes you can meet him and show another apartment. I don't say it's a good option, but it's an option :)
I think in general booking.com was made more for hotels, so most hotels has reception, credit card machines, etc.
While airbnb was initial for personal room/apartment rental for individuals, thats why its more better for apartment rentals.
So you just have to accept it and use it or not :)
If you have option Payments by booking.com and active it you will not see Accept cash only option any more.
But this Payments by booking.com was inctroduced not long ago and its not available for all properties as I understand.
