You may want to put in your rules, no hair dying ? I had to. Yes that carpet cleaner works well, again depending on long the dye was in the towels. Some of our guests, as I've stated if a longer stay than 1 night, put a DND sign on the door. So we may not see this until they allow us in the room.
Yes all white linens. We have White Satin Top Sheets, Some have printed Top Sheets. We like white for the fresh clean look as well. Guests really love to see the White. It ensures them everything is clean.
We have 30 sets of every sheet, pillow case, towels ect. However we only have 1 of each Top Sheet (which as stated above cannot be treated just washed in detergent only) The Top Sheets are stain resistant, thankfully.
I agree with Graham Fisher. They choose to be selective.. especially if it says "Attention" or "Rules". Then they tend to ignore and do not read. Its unfortunate though.
I (Motel) have free WiFi for the guests entire length of stay. We just pay for the WiFi on a general basis and do charge the guests at all. It is only available through out the property and ends at the end of the property.

Wow that's horrible ! At least you have insurance for that.. Motels insurance's doesn't cover if a guest ruins a carpet like your incident, unfortunately. We would just have to replace it. Could we have the guest pay for a new carpet, maybe.

Yes is it. I have to now add that to the House Rules as well. Same as make up (foundation is the hardest as well)
Yes I forgot about the hair dye incident, Dark reddish like an Eggplant with Red in it !! Do that at home. A guest was here with his daughter a couple of years ago, who decided she was going to dye her hair. Used our White towels and laid one on the bed, with the dye on the towel. Guessing she wrapped her hair up while waiting for the dye to set in, I do not know why. But, needless to say the bedspread (not the White top covers as stated above) came clean... but the towels were ruined. Her aunt, whom they were visiting in the area (due to a death in the family), called to see if there were any other charges besides the amount for the stay. Well I told her what had happened, she mailed us some beautiful towels, which was very kind of her. I did not ask her to do anything nor pay for any damages because the family was going through a very ruff time.
