Great to see you take such good care of your property and we're also envious that your business is located in a market where you can charge high enough prices to be able to afford a house-keeper! There's just not enough margin for that here so we work hard and do our best but permanently spotless may be a touch beyond us... particularly as guests love to sleep with the huge windows open to listen to the frogs, nightingales and crickets at night, which lets the spiders and moths in ;-)
Bonne continuation k2u
You couldn't make it up :-)
Absolutely agree! We ask guests that don't leave 'perfect' reviews to kindly share what else we could have done for them and often we hear two things (as well as "TV in every room", which isn't happening):
1) perfection doesn't exist so we gave you the next closest thing Booking.com's system allowed ie; 7.5 out of 10. We would have given you 9 out of 10 but there are only 4 circles to select...
2) You are not in the centre of town, which would have got 10/10 (or 4/4) for location... and they are right. We are 10 minutes' walk from the centre of town and chosen for the most part by people who want rural silence and no traffic but would like to be in a town that has those things!
All we conclude is that you can't please all the people all of the time :-) Oh, and we have another business to run so we don't spend 6 hours a day baking bread, scones, cakes whatever only to waste half of it! Not profitable and not, for us, anywhere near green enough!
Hi Leandri - no need to apologise :-)... have a great weekend
Hi Leandri and thanks for responding... just out of interest, who is the "we" in your post? Do you work for Booking.com?
Don't focus just on price!
If you think about you, your place, your team (if you have one) and the memories you help to create, they will be different - and hopefully better - than the memories other stays will create within guests. So why try to homogenise your business and your offering by leading on price?
Instead, pay attention to what goes on in your locale and price accordingly; either above or below for promotions, but never settle on average. If you do - and excuse me Booking.com - but the search engines suck all the added value out of your offer.
Not every guest is looking for the cheapest price! Just great value for the memories you are helping to create.
