Avoid also very rude clients like ****** !!
I've just seen that BDC offered us the possibility to mark some guest for bad behavior! This can be a good step in making a BDC's Blacklist and after date to help to avoid this kind of person!
It would be better if the reservation can be canceled in the same time when you mark the guest for bad behavior!
PS: We have to take in to consideration that all material or image's demage are supported by owner not BDC.
We had an experience last year with some guests from Germany.
After my staff explained them that there were extra_guests (showing mistakes in their booking) they paid the right money for a double room but they became angry!!
Finaly we received a bad review after few days!!
Regarding this issue: You don't have to become worried, I think that some of that fake bookings can come from your local competitors also; You have to follow some steps to avoid it: fix a limit for cancelation period, verify guest card details, send a message to the guest and verify his phone number (the country also, sometimes can be a mistake in phone no listed in BDC page)..etc.
If the guest card details are not available for you or has not money in card account (in pre_autorisation period), if you have not mail answer, if you have not phone answer ..there are 90% chance to have a fake booking and you have to ask BDC to cancel the reservation.
By the way... now BDC are going to inform you if you receive reservations based on NOT valid card marked and the guest has only 20h to provide right card details. Otherwise you can cancel the reservation.
It is true that the breakfast deal can be tricky. If Your Inn is situated near to a restaurant you can cancel the breakfast (they can not stop themselves to compare your breakfast offer with the restaurant offer and of course your guests will forget about the price differences).
If you have a group with special food needs let them have access to your kitchen facilities.
Another option is the buffet (where the financial management is simple and your breakfast will look better).
