The Monthly Edit: October’s round-up of news, tips and discussions

We take a look back at Click. 2019 and share details on the steps we are taking towards protecting you from invalid credit cards

Welcome to the October edition of the Monthly Edit, your round-up of important news, tips, updates and discussions.

What’s new on the Partner Hub?

To help you stack rate plans, promotions and discounts as effectively as possible, we created an overview of how all our pricing products fit together. In the Partner Community, ideas and tips were shared around ways to make your property more eco-friendly? And in this month’s Click. podcast, we were looking at travel trends for 2020 - from second-city travellers to more responsible modes of travel.

Highlights from Click. 2019

Last month, over 1,000 industry professionals joined us in Amsterdam for our annual thought leadership conference, Click. Over two days of workshops, talks and sessions, our partners had the chance to tap into new insights, peek behind the Booking.com curtain and see how we’re designing the connected trip of tomorrow.

Increase revenue with room upsells

You told us you wanted more ways to upsell your rooms. We heard your feedback, and we’ve now made it easier for guests to switch to premium room types before they arrive – meaning more revenue per booking, a smoother check-in experience and quicker resell of your more affordable rooms. This feature is currently available to partners with flexible policies.

Greater protection against invalid credit cards

To make things easier for you – and to give you greater protection against fraud – we’re increasing the number of zero-value authorisation checks. And to help save you time, we’ll mark these cards as invalid on your behalf.
