At Booking.com we are committed to doing everything we can to support you and our customers. As part of this commitment, we have introduced a campaign to encourage rebookings where possible – incentivising guests who had to cancel their bookings within their own country as a result of government travel restrictions tied to the COVID-19 pandemic to rebook a future stay at the same property, when it is safe to travel again.
These incentives will be funded by Booking.com and take the form of credits, totalling 15% of the rebooking price with a maximum of 100 Euros per reservations – to be deposited in the guest wallet after their stay. To help support you, we will also waive any commission on eligible reservations made as part of this campaign.
The incentive is valid for eligible bookings made until 31 December 2020 with a check-out date before or on 30 April 2021. For guests to be eligible, cancellations taken into account must have occurred in countries where Force Majeure was applicable, and where the reservations themselves were eligible for Forced Circumstances. These cancellations must have occurred before 6 April 2020, and reservations taken into account must have had a non-refundable component at the moment of cancellation.
“As the world starts to show early signs of recovery and travel intent rises, it’s time to start rebuilding together,” says Arjan Dijk, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Booking.com. “To help stimulate demand for our partners we’re introducing multiple new offers, products and services, with Booking.com marketing activities reaching customers to ensure the most exposure possible.
“By incentivising guests to rebook the same properties, where applicable and possible, we hope to inspire them to take action when travel and hospitality restart – offering partners an opportunity to recapture bookings as it becomes safe to travel again.”
Eligible guests in areas that have eased travel restrictions will receive a one-time promotional code via email which will allow them to benefit from the incentive.
