calendar syncing with other plateforms

6 moths ago, I encountered serious calendar syncing problems between booking.com and the 3 other main booking plateforms (airbnb, homeaway, tripadvisor).  Despite all booking plateforms using the ical system, these synchronisation issues forced me to subscribe to an expensive channel booking manager to eliminate the risk of double bookings.  I heard that these issues might finally have been fixed, is that true? My channel booking manager renewal date is August 2020

Many people have found the same issues. I block manually. Unfortunately, I forgot to block one booking about 2 weeks ago and got a double booking (new booking on HomeAway even though I already had a booking from Booking.com). Cancelling that double booking caused a 20% ranking penalty for that property on HomeAway. I have now developed my own "channel manager" type software, but, knowing how many bugs and flaws there are in the Booking.com system, and knowing that Booking.com simply do not care about hosts (partners), I do not trust Booking.com to export any data correctly, so will continue with manual blocking just in case.

Why did you subscribe to an expensive CM? There are also CM providers that offers low rates.

I pay 35pounds a month and I have 20 units (MyAllocator).

The cheapest I came accross is Efective Tours, but did not try it: https://effectivetours.com/pricing/ 

 

Note also that it wont quite solve a problem because AirBnB, HomeAway and TripAdvisor still uses iCal connection (despite having channel manager). AirBnB now also offer API connection with some CM providers, meaning the communication between BDC, AirBnB, Expedia would sync instantly. With platforms that offer only iCal connection will still require some time to sync, but it will work.

The Ical synchronization between platforms is not realtime. This means individual reservations made on other platforms won’t sync immediately with your Booking.com calendar, and vice versa. Since you are working with multiple OTA's (Airbnb, HomeAway, TripAdvisor, Booking.com) the best solution is the one that you currently have, a Channel Manager. 

In your extranet account under Account tab and Channel Manager, you can select the one that best fits your needs from our list of recommended providers.

Thanks, but the issue was not a late sync, but no sync at all for one of my 2 flats.

Please start to be honest with partners. Booking.com calendar sync does not work properly. It is broken.
