Genius Guests

Unfortunately we haven't had a very good run hosting Genius guests. We have had more problems than it was worth. We found this program seemed to attract guests that didn't have the money when booking and then cancelled within the 7 days prior leaving us without a booking for their dates, another that was intimidating and complaining trying to get what ever they can out of us ie discount or free holiday. Is it true for a guest to qualify to be a Genius guest they only have to have had one booking with Booking.com in a 2 year period? It has been the genius guests that has been the most damaging to our feed back score. Booking.com needs to introduce feed back and a score rating for all guests.

I've just had my first Genius Guest who didn't turn up and had used a fake address. What verification are Booking.com doing with these guests?

Hello Mac Chester! Thank you for your post. There are two levels of Genius guests. For the first level the guests need to have more than two stayed bookings in two years, while for the second level guests need to have more than five stayed bookings in two years. We hope this information is helpful for you!

How do hosts determine if the Genius guests are first level or second level? The address used by my latest Genius Guest did not even exist.  Are BDC verifying these Genius guests?

I too would like to know how hosts are able tell the difference between the two levels of Genius guest?

Hello Mac Chester and David Atkins! Currently, there is no system in place that would screen the guest's personal address or any other personal information provided by the guest. This applies to all guests whether they are Genius or not. With regards to Genius guests, you can identify the level of a Genius guest by the percentage of discount they are receiving. Genius guests level 1 are entitled to only 10%, while Genius guests level 2 can either receive 10% or 15%. In addition, Genius guests level 2 also enjoy options like "Free breakfast or free room upgrade on select options". At the moment there are no special tags used in the Extranet that would indicate the level of the Genius guest. All the best!
