Can I cancel a reservation if the guest breaks house rules / policies?
If my guest turns up to check in with children, pets, etc when they're specifically not allowed in my Booking.com house rules and policies can I turn them away and refer them to Booking.com?
Yes you can, I would turn them away and then mark them as a no show as if you mark them as guest misconduct they can still review you. We need to remember Bdc don't run our businesses we do and we make our own rules. You have every right to turn away guests
Thank you. I agree we need the flexibility to reject bookings which abuse / contravene our house rules / policies.
A hundred percent , it is your property and no one has a right to abuse you or your property.
house rules I have are the following
set checkin and check out
no smoking inside properly
no stag , hen or wedding parties
quiet hours from 11pm - 7pm
by booking at our property you our bound by our terms and conditions detailed on our website and your contract is with us and not the online travel agent should you book through Should you damage our property through negligence we reserve the right to charge your card for damages and or further cleaning . if a guest or a member of your party causes disruption to the function and flow of the property, guests and or staff you will be asked to leave and will be charged for the duration of your booking.
I have terms and conditions sent to guests in a template. If a guest chooses not to read it that is on them as we need to protect our property , reputation and future or current guests
