Hi everyone, I’m Didem, the new Community Manager!

Hi everyone!

I’m Didem, and I’m very excited to share that I’ve recently joined the team here at Booking.com as Community Manager taking over from Sergei.

(I am not new to Booking.com however, and I’ve actually had some projects with the Communities team in the past, which makes this all the more exciting for me!)
 

One of the things I hold dear can be summed up in this quote from Emma Seppälä (more on her here): “We thrive in community, in connection, in giving and receiving love”. And this is so true! Especially during these difficult times, it’s become invaluable to have a safe and positive space to connect and share with others.

For those among us who are fortunate, these spaces can be built with our friends and loved ones. But equally, the digital world can help us connect - and that’s one of the reasons why I always loved the Partner Community!

2021 was quite a year. We’ve had ups and downs, some challenges and some reasons to celebrate. I’ve always loved how some of you share more about your properties - your holiday ornaments, flowers in your gardens, but also the ways in which you help each other improve the experience of your guests, and how you champion hospitality!

That’s what has kept this community together, it’s the identity we share - offering great experiences. So while I’m new as Community Manager, since I’ve been in the company for a while I wanted to express my personal gratitude for everything you’ve all offered to this community.

In the coming period I’ll be working with the rest of the team to address the suggestions and feedback collected from you all. But equally feedback is not a one-time thing, so please let me know personally if there’s anything you’d like to share! I’m here for you :)

Very much looking forward to our journey together and what the new year holds for all of us!

Question is , are we all going to get paid 

Or if it just another  Jackanory Story

You should be telling your people to start reading the forum and see gge complaints rising it's only a matter of time before this scandal goes public 

Will yous ignore it then 

I'll be putting mine through the tax man and  saying that I never got paid but yous took your 20 percent and telling them how many others have had the same trouble 

NOT BEING PAID 

Let the tax man deal with you s

May I kindly suggest to contact our Support team directly through your Extranet account to learn more on this as they will be able to evaluate your property’s situation and give the best advice?

I’d still like to share a few things myself here with you about the expiration of guest reviews which you might find helpful, if the expiration is what you’re referring to. Reviews that are submitted by guests remain visible for 36 months. During the challenging times, our partners received less reviews, while old reviews continued to expire. This impacted their conversion and sometimes their ability to attract new guests. To prevent this, expiration of guest reviews was paused for a year on July 31, 2020. A year later, on July 31, 2021, expiration was re-started on reviews that were submitted three years prior, in 2018. From then on, all approved reviews will last for three years. Additionally, if there has been a drastic change at the property, such as a change in ownership, a partner can request removal of old reviews which is a different situation than the reviews’ expiration. I am hoping that these give you some useful insights!

  1. In the extranet, go to the ‘Inbox’ tab.
  2. Select ‘Booking.com messages’.
  3. Right Pane - Click on ‘See Contact Options’
  4. Choose Account
  5. Now choose Other
  6. Then at bottom, See all contact options, and click Message or Call
  7. As there is no one number for all partners, the number for your nearest BdC Partner Support is then revealed.
