Last minute promotions

Hi, I have just created a Last minute Promotion. Could you confirm if the promotion is applied for the whole stay or just the nights that would actually trigger the promotion ? Say my promotion is triggered 1 day before check in date, if one guests books 3 nights with the promotion (less than 1 day in advance) is the reduced rate applied for the 3 nights or only the first one?  Thanks!
