We are ranked first in search order on airbnb and third to last on Booking. Why?!?
Does anyone understand how Booking ranks properties for the search order? We have a 9.8 rating from guests and are listed third to last on Booking for our city. We are a rental property. Is that why? On airbnb, we are listed first.
Hi! Are you part of the Preferred Partner Program as this could effect your ranking?
Ironically, we don't qualify because our sales aren't high enough. I feel like I'm in a Catch 22.
Yes I am with you! Unfortunately like many similar initiatives and awards, you are incentivised mainly on revenue generation whilst the rest (feedback, etc) is 2nd place for which there are no prizes!
We are a rental property with just one cabin, one of the reasons we don't have tons of turnover (we only have one place to rent out -- though it is about 80 percent occupied). We're working on building more cabins this year and next. Hopefully that will help. Changing our category from "country home" to hotel might help too, once we get more cabins built on the property.
Thanks for the moral support!
Hey there,
Parenthesescabins , you could be on to something with the Rental Property thing. I'm also noticing this. Remember the guests can be looking for specifically 2 people, or group etc properties and the Rental property sometimes get the end stick of that but I find that if you have a good rating (Well done on yours!) guests will come regardless of where you are on the list.
Ironcially, when I do a search for highest ranked properties, we don't come up until way down in the list because I think it's weighted for sales volume as well. We have the highest ranking but don't come up first. I think volume improve your order in the search ranking but since we're always at the bottom of the list, I'm having a hard time improving volume. Aaaaargggh!!
Experiencing the same and wondering why?
