Are direct booking effecting visability on Booking.com

I am on Airbnb (only good for high season) and have been with Booking.Com for 6 months.  I was getting up to 3 - 4 bookings a day but that is now majorly faltering due to me get quite a number of direct bookings.  I think Booking.com work on the number of bookings you get, which improves your visibility. Would you stop accepting direct bookings?  I have just added a beautiful new room but are currently not receiving any bookings.  I don't want to bite the hand that feeds me!

 

Any suggestions would be warmly welcomed.

I would say no.

Direct is just additional and no correlation to non direct visibility on BdC, the visibility booster can help.

 

But you should look at that side as a guest to see where you place on the search results, for several factors and not just price low to high.
