B&B on BDC: We don't fit the model
I am constantly trying to distinguish my 5 room, historic and 4-star B&B from the standard, exit-ramp, 150 room cookie cutter motel that dominates the BDC database. Yet every morning i get two things from BDC: a "Rate Intelligence" report that tells me my rates are too high and a sidebar that says "A guest looked at you but went to Roach Motel by the Highway for $49.95".
This is very frustrating as I don't compete on price and it leaves me to conclude that, while I have to use BDC, I am actually hurting my brand and certainly my margins. Would other B&B owners be interested in BDC or another vehicle that is promoted and limited to B&B travelers? I think both us and BDC would make a lot more money.
