How Clean is Your Clean? What heights do you take your cleaning to?

I use a LINT ROLLER to go between the sheets, mattress cover, carpet beneath the bed, etc to get all the left over hairs from the last guests. Vacuum is not enough. It takes only 5 more minutes of cleaning time to do this and I promise those 5 minutes more will start getting you better reviews for cleaning, when nobody can find a hair from the last guest stuck to your freshly washed sheets. It takes 3-6 hours to clean and only one second to spot a human hair on your newly cleaned room.

Give us one of your cleaning secrets here for your fellow Hosts to benefit and be able to provide a better CLEANER experience for their guests :)

If it takes 6 hours for cleaning, then any complaint about "not clean" should be disregarded. As Location already became subjective, what more about cleanness.

One of my guest sent me the message that we shall put a note "Sanitized" on slippers. I made my research and found out it's the worse thing to do. Normally bad hotels put a note "Sanitized", when actually they didn't Sanitized.

Cleaning secret is to keep cleaning for 6 hours and everything will be fine.

I use LINT ROLLER only when guests bring with them dogs. Otherwise after the cleaning lady has finished cleaning and place is spotless clean I personally supervise beds, sheets, pillows, mattress cover, towels checking out every little detail. Cleaning and checking again and again even the very last minute before guests arrive.

We do all the cleaning ourselves. We always iron the sheets, however the king size sheets are cumbersome to iron so I iron them on the bed using a cordless iron. I also use an "electric" duster to help keep the place spotless. We allow small dogs so I use a micro fiber mop as well as a vacuum cleaner to catch all the dog hair.

Stringybarkhills “Iron on the bed” wonderful idea makes ironing a cinch.

I wonder if all these hosts use their accomodations for open hart surgery too.

It was suggested to purchase a steamer to get wrinkles out of a duvet cover - always gets creased when putting a clean one in - and I was advised it helps sanitize with the steam. Thoughts?
