Hi all,

We were asked by Booking.com to share the the reasons to our strong review score.

We have a small "Self Catering Lodge" in Knysna. Our Lodge is situated on the mountain with spectacular views over the Knysna Heads and Lagoon. We pride ourselves in cleanliness and between myself and my husband we inspect each unit before new guests check in. Most of our guests comment upon arrival that although our photos on booking.com is beautiful, it's even better in reality. Although all our units are Self Catering, we provide complimentary Tea, Coffee, Sugar as well as basic toiletries. We also provide charcoal and fire lighters for the braai's on the decks

Our staff are friendly and always available.

We love what we do, most of our guests arrive as strangers and leave as friends.

I am not sure if we are allowed to sort of advertise each other here, but could you give me the details of the self catering ? we love visiting Knysna in our free time? and hope you are well good and healthy after the big fire, and well wishes for the coming season

Thank you for your booking at Sydney Darling Harbour Waterfront. We look forward to hosting you and making your stay the utmost experience.

We have reserved your dates and we will be in touch well before these dates to maximise your stay on Sydney Harbour and meet any special requirements you may have.

Check-in is available from 2 pm.Please note that check-out time is 11 am.

If you require an earlier check-in or a later checkout, we will try to meet your requirements depending on other bookings around your days and how busy housekeeping cleaners are.

In any event, we live on the premises also and can meet you and store your bags in our other apartment, give you a swipe card to have access to the common areas, pool, sauna and showers in the meantime.

WE PROVIDE FREE OF CHARGE –

  1. Free personalised airport shuttle bus for guests staying for 3 nights or more.
  2. Continental breakfasts including cereal, milk, bread, butter, jam, etc
  3. We also have a baby bordered cot and stroller if needed.
  4. We also have an Australian mobile phone with sim card and $50 credit, an AUSI number and all Google apps.
  5. The apartment also has 2 secure parking spaces.
  6. You may also borrow the Apartment’s 5 seater BMW for a day, should you choose to tour the Blue Mountains, Southern Highlands or the Central Coast.
  7. OPAL CARDS – we will supply each guest with an Opal Card, which enables you to use the Ferry (Pyrmont Bay wharf is only 100 metres from our building), Pyrmont Bay Light Rail is also 100 metres away from the front door of our building & the 389 North Bondi Beach Bus (bus stop is less than 100 metres away). For example, previous guests have taken the 389 bus to Bondi Beach, then done the Coast Walk from Bondi to Coogee Beach. To return back to the apartment, you take the 372 bus to Central Station, then the Light Rail from Central to Pyrmont Bay, walk across the road back to our building. The two bus trips are about 45 minutes each and the light rail approx 10 minutes.
  8. Our 75 inch Samsung Curved Smart TV, with Foxtel (including all sports channels), Stan, Netflix, and IPTV. IP TV is a new technology that gives you free access to all overseas TV stations, which makes overseas guests feel very at home.
  9. 2 pushbikes should you wish to ride around any of our many city bike tracks.
  10. 4 overseas universal power adapters.
  11. 1 bottle of red wine, 1 white wine, and a bowl of fruit.
  12. Peter Alexander bathrobes and Sheridan towels are at your disposal during your stay.

We have a WELCOME BROCHURE at the apartment which details most of the local cafes, restaurants and attractions.
In case you have not fully planned your activities, etc, for your stay, may we make a few quick suggestions now!

  1. FIREWORKS – When Darling Harbour puts on a display of fireworks, this is directly in front of our waterfront apartment! Vivid Festival and the Festival Of Sydney are great times of the year to enjoy Sydney and the fireworks in front of your balcony.
  1. PIZZA ON THE BALCONY - We recommend you do spend at least one night at home entertaining on the balcony to take in the fantastic harbour and cityscape views. An added suggestion here is to have pizza delivered from ‘Made In Italy’, a local buzzy restaurant which does deliveries. Feedback received to date, most residents and guests enjoy their yummy food. They are the best pizzas you will ever taste and their contact details for the night are on our WELCOME BROCHURE.
  1. HURRICANES GRILL RESTAURANT - Just a 2-minute walk to the Darling Harbour Shopping Centre. You should also book in advance. Ph (02) 9211 2210.
  1. SYDNEY FISH MARKETS which is a 7 minute walk from the apartment provides an opportunity to eat in at Peters, and enjoy an assortment of cooked seafood, or take away fresh oysters and cooked prawns. Or bring your seafood or platters back to the apartment and eat them on the balcony. Note the Sydney Fish Markets shuts at 4pm.
  1. Triple package - SEA LIFE AQUARIUM, WILDLIFE PARK, MADAME TUSSAUDS – We recommend you buy triple package tickets to these 3 attractions which are housed next to each other, a 10 minute walk from our apartment over the Pyrmont Bridge.
  1. OPERA HOUSE We recommend you visit the Sydney Opera House by either of the following - Take the ferry from the Pyrmont Bay wharf across the road to Circular Quay and then a 5 minute walk to the Opera House or visit the nearby Botanical Gardens.
  1. OR Take a 45 minute walk along the harbour waterfront, over the Pyrmont Bridge, then past Cockle Bay, then past the new Barangaroo Reserve, then past the Rocks, then under the Sydney Harbor Bridge, past the Overseas International Ship Terminal, Circular Quay, and then the Opera House.
  1. The HOP-ON HOP-OFF BUS Sydney Explorer is a great way to visit many of Sydney’s attractions as it stops at 34 destinations all over Sydney, and you can buy a 1 Day or 2 Day Pass to explore a larger area.
  1. Then if you are not tired out, LOL, there is also the SYDNEY TOWER which is also on the net. Are you game to walk on the outside of the Tower on a glass floor?!!

The apartment building had a first class gym, sauna, heated spa and pool. The pool is Olympic class and is crystal clear and a constant 28 degrees Celsius (= 80 degrees F). So don’t forget to bring your swimmers.


There are many other attractions within walking distance of our apartment, ie, Darling Quarter water park, Piramma Park and more.

We have a 24/7 Concierge and you will also have our contact details, so there is plenty of extra assistance for you if needed.
Sydney Darling Harbour Waterfront is 5 Star rated and as with any New South Wales 5 Star Apartment Building or 5 Star Hotel, there is a strict No Loud Party or Overcrowding Policy.

PLEASE ADVISE US –

  1. Your flight details into Sydney, and out of Sydney, if you are staying 3 nights or more so we can organise our airport shuttle bus free of charge.
  1. Your flight details if you are staying less than 3 nights and would like us to organize our shuttle bus at a cost of $90 from Sydney International or domestic terminal to the apartment, and the driver will wait for you and meet you at your flight gate exit with a sign with your name on it. And $60 for the trip back to the airport at the end of your stay.
  1. Please notify us how many couples and singles are in your group so we can organize bedding arrangements. We also have a bordered cot and stroller if needed.
  1. What type of alcohol you prefer, e.g. red wine - Shiraz or Cab Sav or Merlot, white wine - Sauvignon Blanc, beers, etc ?
  1. What type of bread you prefer, e.g. white, whole meal, multigrain or rye ?
  1. What type of milk you prefer, e.g. full cream, light, skim, coconut, almond or soy ?
  1. What time you anticipate arriving at the apartment ?
