I've already put special offers in till end of the year. I do not have any bookings for August which is a very busy month in Cyprus. Any ideas how to change this. I already have underpriced my property rates

Dear Chrisv7, usually people make a reservations on August before 1 month - 3 weeks.So you should wait, August is last month when people can go to summer vacation. Also you could check the price of your competitors.

I seriously need to change phone # for verification code delivery, all code delivered on hotel phone no do not make it to complete delivery. phone connection get drop in short message. I have been on hold pls resolve this for acct 23181 immediately, change phone no to 928-380-3450 soon

Hi Brooke,

Hope you are doing well.

I do indeed have a question!

One of my properties has a Lot of competitors as it's in the Margate area. It has no sea view units as it's built in a village style layout. How do I compete with people renting out their room if I'm renting out chalets on a resort? I did a search and my property is on like page 8 and the rest of the properties are all timeshare type of places. Like (making up this name now) Seashell number 1. Seashell is the complex and the people who own nr 1 rents it out at a Ridiculously low price, how can my fully equipt resort compete with a super low price for a basic house?

I have recently joined and had problems, i imported my calendar from home and away and it then showed every other date as closed , i deleted the imported calendar and it still shows every date as closed please can you help as no one can book!

Here, Catherine shares a few of her top tips for properties who feel threatened by lower rates elsewhere:

  • Start by loading your availability as early as possible, ensure your calendar is correct and up to date to really capture those early bookers.
  • Is your properties content showcasing your property in the best light? Make sure the description is up to date and highlights all stand out features. Relate the description back to the area, and what is close by.
  • Make sure photos are accurate and up to date. Are the photos high quality? Do they represent a selection of all areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen/lounge, spa, pool, outdoor gardens, bar, restaurants, gym etc? If a guest can't see it, they may not book it. Make sure the first couple of photos showcase the entire properties, as we may not autoshuffle all photos.
  • Check the facilities and amenities tab - is everything the property has to offer ticked? Any new features that need to be added? Guests often use filters when searching a location, so making sure all the information is inputted correctly, and matches the search criteria is key.

We are a new and small b&b in France and we hardly receive any bookings via BDC. When you search for the nearest village we are on page 4, and that is not exactly 'above the folld'. Properties located 1.5 hours drive from that village are listed above our property and we are only 10 minutes away.

When you select price and rating we are currently listed 3rd and that's correct. We tried everything to improve our position but only increasing the commission to for us a far high level helped a little bit. Lowering the room price made it worse.

As a customer who wants to book a room I expect to find properties near the location I am searching for first and not properties with a quality equal or less than ours for the same price 1.5 hours drive away.

I've contacted BDC several times but only received responses that the question was forwarded to a specialist that will reply most of the times in three days. It's been 2 weeks now and no anwser to our questions has been given.

We tried to prepare for the peak season but without a good listing on booking.com it is nowadays impossible to be able to run b&b and that is exactly what is happening now.

I hope someone from BDC will respond to our question soon to save our season.

To the rest, like Hotel Cosy Beach Vista , you can all find the details on how to contact your own account manager via the Extranet. Go to your Inbox -> Booking.com messages. It's on that page. You all need to contact your Account manager to ensure the location of your property is correct.

It looks like you are closing the topic Leandri Klopper but I did not get in contact with an account manager or an answer from booking.

I thought this was a topic where our question would be forwarded to the acount manager. I am not able to contact my account manager because there is only a phonenumber which I tried to call several times without any result.

We are not big enough for booking to assign an account manager so this was my last resort to get an answer to my questions.

I still haven't got a answer from booking and I still hope I will get one soon, allthough I think I will never get one.

I understand your struggles. Technically the post is about questions to pose to An (not your own) account manager regarding peak season and how to prep for it. It's a shame not more people took advantage of this thread. But no problem!

Hmm, have you tried just phoning the normal Partner help services? Normally they are quite willing to assist with anything, and if they can't then they get your account manager to phone you.

I hope you get helped soonest!

Hi Leandri Klopper,

When I call support I will get first line support and they will forward my question to the second line of support and they will forward it to the search team. That's already been done via email contact.

It's been 2 weeks+ now and I did hear anything. I cannot check if somethings are improved due to a/b testing and our popularity is compared to other b&b's in our village and unfortunatly that's us.All I can see is that our popularity is dropping (preferred partner program) and I can't do anything about it. Or if I can I would like to get some advice from an account manager at booking.

Hello Maarten and Berbera,

Sometimes they take ages to reply and other times they are fast.

I don't really have more advise as I'm quite new to the Preferred partner programme myself. Maybe open a new thread (eg create a post) on the forum specifically with the topic of popularity drop and unable to reach a consultant for assistance. There are SO many partners on this forum who have much experience in the Preferred partner programme.

Maybe one of them can give better suggestions. My only one is to keep calling the Partner Services line until you get to the right (right minded) consultant.

Do you have any special recommendation in this regards for the peak season in particular?

Hi there Adbul,

Big pleasure!

I suggest taking a look at Cathrine's reply. Every property has their own struggles with their peak season, mine was that the other places has much lower prices.

I'd say pin point where your challenges lie and see what you can do about them. If you can identify difficulties before they happen, you can avoid them completely.
