Photo of the month: the best view from your property

Each month we will introduce a new photo sharing challenge. This month we want to see the best view from your property.

Whether its a busy street, or rolling hills. We want to see where your guests take in the best views.

Make sure to post your photo by July 31st! We'll feature the photo that received the most votes.

Booking.com may use the submitted content for other purposes (e.g. marketing) and that we can also edit, crop, enhance or modify same in a way that we deem fit

Hey Ilaria,

So just to make sure I got this right. This is a contest but without an actual prize.... just a possibility to be featured in Booking's channels... Not sure how this could increase our bookings, especially when it's not even a certainty.

Last but not least, I feel that there are many hosts with bigger issues posting questions on this forum which remained unanswered, especially by staff members. Hosts are losing money, getting damages in their homes, poor reviews for no reason and Booking is not taking care of that. This, to me, seems like a more important aspect to take a look at, not monthly contests without prizes.

But anyway, let's keep a positive approach. This is a contest in the end.

Here's a picture of the old part of Bucharest as seen thru our living room balcony. Just long exposure and some minor contrast & light adjustments. No photoshop.

Can't wait to get a chance to be featured in Booking's channels :)

Hi Sergiu,

thanks for taking part to the contest, it's a beautiful photo!

This space is all about sharing your expertise with other partners and getting to know each other.

This contest is simply an initiative to have a bit of fun and to share, with the rest of the community, the beautiful scenarios around the world, month by month, theme by theme.

Good luck with the voting stage!

We are located on the mountainside above the Simon's Town harbour - South Peninsula, Cape Town. Even through this is home to the South African Navy, it is a very quiet and peaceful harbour, with a different and interesting view daily. Often we can see whales or dolphins from our dining room just beyond the harbour wall. So special!

I'm enjoying seeing all these lovely photos, thank you!

Kind regards,

Liesel

Booking.com seems to work, as may place was booked for a month 7 hours after my listing was completed. But dealing with them is difficult. Struggling to get their computer to stop moving my location to a town 300 km from here I inadvertently created duplicate listing. I beg; I plead; i even got an international phone call from a pleasant young woman in the US confirming the dup would be eliminated. But it wasn't and every day I get spam msj telling to "complete my registration" for a non-existent apartment. I have a room with a view and I get invited to join the photo contest but no instrux on how to submit my photo. Stuff like that. Maddening.

Hi David!

Greetings! You have raised a number of genuine concerns and as a partner, I wish to first of all congratulate you for the passion you have in the accomodation industry and especially the love you have for the guests. In the beginning I faced similar complications - mine was about accessing the extranet. For months I could not access my extranet - you can imagine the frustration if you get an email message informing you that a guest is due to arrive and you cannot tell them welcome or even know how long they will stay, the arrival time etc. So I contacted the B.com customer care, and the pleasant voice, probably from the same office you mentioned, kindly took me through the process and within half an hour my extranet problem was solved! Concerns are different, but from my experience, I feel B.com will solve the issue of the location of your property - keep talking to them.

As per the photo contest, log on to your extranet, go to Partner Forum Announcements - you will see "July Photography Contest" - click on it, then you will see instructions such as "how it works", "the rules", "deadline July 30th." Go to "Add a comment" section, then click on "insert photo icon", select the best photo of your property - with a view, then import it to the comment section - you may add a short caption explaining your photo - and you will have completed the process.

David, I wish you success with this process and in your work - hoping you are preparing as well for the big event in Panama 2019 - World Youth Days!! Blessings.

Thank you Martin,

Hey Ilaria,

Guests wake up to this view every morning. The best time to visit is between Aug-Feb. For all here who do not know Coorg. It's the Scotland of India.

Warm Regards,

Sunil

Wow, what a beautiful view! This must be breathtaking to see for yourself.

My guesthouse is situated in a suburb but I am so inspired by all the beautiful photos that I am going to look for something that is beautiful in my garden and send in a photo as well.

Well done.

Our property is still waiting to be published as I have not received the 'Verification Code' by mail, even though I have now requested it 3 times. I did get a phone message from Anna Maria at booking.com inquiring if she could help to get it published. Unfortunately she did not leave a number so I could not call her back. Sad that all this seems so difficult. There are not many properties that can boast a view across the heated infinity swimming pool down to the sea - like ours! Time to get it published?

The earlier view is across the swimming pool to the Mediterranean looking south from the 'Luxury Pool Apartment at Villa Seburga' which is located in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Cote d'Azur, France. The geographic location is about 12 kilometres from Nice Airport. Here is an additional view from the terraces to the west. You can see for up to 50 kilometres towards Cannes and the lower foothills of the Alpes-Maritimes.

Hi All

I am so inspired by all you beautiful photos that I decided to try it myself. Although my guesthouse is in a suburb I think my garden will do the trick. Only problem - I also struggle to take part. Martin - I tried to follow your instructions, but I could not find the 'how it works', 'rules' or anything else. Now I feel embarrassed.

Can someone help?

I do not have a sea view or a mountain view, but this is what you can see from your kitchen or bedroom! I am very proud of my garden that survives with little or no water. We save all water from the laundry room and this is what we use for the garden.

Hi Guys,

Better late than never. Here is my photo taken from the patio of one of our Lodges at Crystal Springs Mountain lodge in Mpumalanga. All of our lodges have Mountain, valley and gorge views. The photo honestly does not do it justice.

Wilma, VERY impressive. Especially without water, it's such a nice view.

Keep well all!

I visited your lodge once and I can confirm that the views are spectacular. Absolutely one thing South Africans can be proud of - our landscapes.

What about a competition about MOST CREATIVE IDEAS!!!!

Hi Wilma, thanks for sharing your view of the garden! It's clear the attention to detail and hard work that you've put towards it - and all while conserving water. Well done!

Thank you also to Leandri Klopper for this sweeping view of the valley. Two South African views, both equally striking in their own styles.

Once more, a big thank you to all of those who have contributed their postcard-worthy pictures so far:

Hey Thomas L. (Austria) ,

Wow! Wow wow wow, I tell you what, Wow!

I would not mind the cold if my eyes wake up to that view every morning. What catches my eye, and tickles me completely, is how Clean the street is! It's snowy everywhere but you can see a neat grey road sliding through the middle. Suppose it's a must otherwise traveling between destinations would be quite difficult.

Thanks for your add! I love it.

Keep well (and keep warm)!
