About Starting Prepaid booking in India

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all are doing well.

Booking.com is doing very well with generating booking compare to other OTAs,but as I have multiple properties listed on booking.com, the conversion ratio is not as much as the booking generated because customer book without paying a single peny and they also cancel as well without giving a single thought ,but if you all will activate prepaid booking in India then I hope so it will be beneficial for hotels as well.Once customer book they will surely visit.

So first things first, that is entirely the Guest's perrogative, to cancel on any booking regardless of there being no prepayment clause. It is literally a feature.

 

Are you saying that you cannot avail of having a prepaid rate (with cancellation policy attached) , ? why?

 

Unless there is something different about India , I am not aware of you should have the same setup and config options as the rest of us.

 

So just go ahead and do it, sign up for one of :

  1. BdC Online Payments
  2. Payments by Booking 
  3. 3rd party payment service gateway service e.g. SumUp, Payrexx, etc.

 

Many of those 3rd party P.S.G. s usually have a feature where you can generate a product or payment link, which you can then message to the guest as soo as you get their booking.  

Set the guest a deadline to pay it. And when they fail too, you can cancel it in the details page, choosing option 1 9 guest failed to prepay or pay deposit).

Hi There Swati and other Hotel Owners 

I had called customer service in India a few days back,  twice . One guys said that when you opt for  prepayment,  booking.com takes the Money from guests and reconciles with its hotels in a month 

The other guy says this feature is only available in certain countries and not in India!

Also can someone help us understand how these features actually work and how we can avoid fake bookings ( especially the bookings from  Agoda who is a booking.com partner and we get no show bookings almost everyday .... It's frustrating )

If any hotel owner can help me understand prepayments and the payments policy I would be grateful
