Frustrating, but you cannot cancel a booking yourself.  Your request to cancel goes to the guest who has to do it for you.  

When I have needed to cancel a booking I tend to spend some time investigating some alternative accommodation that is comparable on facilities and price.  Then you can go back to guest with an option and it doesn't seem so bad to them.
