Customer no show, today I just activate Payment by Booking.com

I would like to know when I activate my Payment by Booking.com free service, the system indicate that they will start to collect payment for reservation start from 2nd Jul 2018, it mean today.

And so happened my long time not happen no show case happened today. My guest no show and no respond to any of my question, email, call etc.

Will this guest get charge by Booking.com on behalf of us?

Hello
Booking will start to collect the payments for reservations booked from today not the ones already booked. So I’m afraid they cant charge your no show.

Hi, In my experience, no shows and last minute cancellations are not collected/paid by booking.com. So host is out of pocket. Guest may be asked to pay but of course there is no obligation for them to so it won't happen in spite of loss and costs for host.

I know. I have lost much potential money because of no-shows. I dont have a prepayment set up simply because guests would have to pay into my bank account and most guests will balk at this. They prefer credit card payments. But we are a small Homestay and cannot justify the costs of a credit card machine here. I have a policy of cancelation fees, but no guest has ever honoured that. Here in New Zealand there is no policy set up by Booking.com yet for guests to pay Booking.com upfront. It's about time Booking.com get there act together for the likes of us (Homestays) so that they are in line with companies who do it magnificently like AirBnb.

Having same problem, small homestay type accommodation. 1 guest thought that not showing up and not paying meant they can book again and everything will be happy - I think not!!

Yep, Air BnB looking more appealing if this continues. will look up square reader, many of these things not valid in NZ.

p.s. Just checked not in NZ
