host cancellations due to covid mandates in country


We are new to using as a host.

We have a house in France.  The country has mandated that no more than 7 people can rent a location. We have a request for 8 people.

We have a second issue as well that has to do with the heating system.

How do I cancel this reservation? Do i contact the guest and ask them to cancel and waive their fees?

Posting an action request  will not result in any action at all, here.




IF the heating is still working, and or can be resolved quickly, then dont cancel.


Yes you will need to contact Guest , inform them of the government mandate, but give them the choice of :


  • 1. Still come as 8, and make do with , as is. Use delivery services etc. maybe some are going to be working and already have a process for this.
  • 2.
  • 3. Option to reschedule the dates, if prepaid.
  • 4. Cancel and refund in full


Regardless of the bubble size, if the accommodation can easily accommodate all 8 , then I would not get hung up on it being 8 .



To Cancel and full refund if they prepaid on checkout.

  • Open Reservation Page
  • Right pane , choose Request Cancelation
  • Choose Option 2
  • System issues Guest notification of cancellation, and they must click to confirm, 48 hours.
  • Once confirmed the system will auto process the full refund.
