How to add a cleaning fee

I want to add a cleaning fee and a pet fee. Flat rate, per stay.

Where do I find the option?

Just have a search on Help for Cleaning fee and it will give you all the detail

I have searched my dashboard without effect.  Conversations about this subject do not fit my particular problem, although I have ineffectively commented on another post as well.

To review: Booking.com seems to advise building the cleaning fee into the base price. The problem with this theory is that it artificially jacks up the base price in the preview ad for our hotel, and since our cleaning fee is per visit not per day, it also corrupts the cost to the visitor depending on how many days they chose to stay.  I might be able to wrap my head around this and find an average rate that overcharges some people and undercharges others, but it doesn't address the fact that it deters visitors from selecting my hotel due to the increased base price.

THAT is not even my main problem since, my other booking platform DOES offer adding a cleaning fee(In this case a temporary covid cleaning fee), and my Booking.com prices are automatically mapped from my other booking platform.(locking me out from being able to adjust the price)

When I asked for direction, my other platform advises me that although my room prices are mapped, additional fees are not, and I need to add them back at the Booking.com side.

Since my prices are effectively 'locked' by the mapping process, I need Booking.com to provide me with a way to "add a fee".  Otherwise I will have to cancel my listing on Booking.com until after the planet is vaccinated.

You have posted this on the partner forum so only able to advise based on our personal experience.  I use a Promotion and discount for multiple nights so that the cleaning and laundry is less for those staying longer but probably doesn't help you if you prices are mapped.  Worth asking the booking.com help team by using Inbox icon on Extranet.  If you need to close temporarily you can easily do a Bulk update to Close for specific dates in Rates and Calendar.

How do I make changes to service charges and cleaning fees?

 

To make changes to service charges, cleaning fees and other additional services, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the 'Property' tab.  
  2. You can make adjustments to the fees in the Policies page, then  Under Additional fees & charges you choose Per Stay.  
  3. You can select ‘Cleaning fee’ to create a new charge.  
  4. Click 'Save' at the bottom of the page when you’re done. Kind Regards

you said "Additional fees & charges you choose Per Stay" and that's incorrect. it is "policies" and thanks to your help i was able to get it to work. just trying to help out :-)

No because that's not a thing nor should it be.

 

That's one of the most ludicrous things I have seen posted on here.

 

Next you'll be asking how can I charge a reservation for using the toilet based on how many times they use it

Thanks for the advice. However, on my extranet when I navigate to 'Additional Fees & Charges' it only displays the option 'Do your guests pay a damage deposit' YES/NO. and there is no button or opportunity to actually add an additional fee.  There is no other opportunity on our Policies tab to address this.  However, I will access the Booking.com internal inbox as suggested.

Hey Guys,

                   When I put a cleaning charge in additional fees and charges do I hit already included or not already included ? Because it’s not charging the guest a fee atm on not included in rate. Also the additional charge per person after 4 guests isn’t being charged also but it’s in there. New to booking.com. Thanks Shaun

Thanks for the reply. So it needs to be not included and does the guest see it as a cleaning charge ? I don’t see it in the price layout that the guest gets. Also I don’t see the extra person charge on there either. Any ideas why ?
