I have not been paid by Booking.Com for last month!!!

I called last Thursday and they were supposed to be getting back to me.  Sent them a message over the weekend and now currently hold on the phone for over 20 minutes for the department.  I am based in the UK nothing has changed, bank details are all the same have not opted out to take payment direct I do not understand what is going on.  I need these funds urgently.  Has anyone else not been paid in the UK?

As of the close of play yesterday myself details (1) have still not received the funds for April reservations due on the 11th May 2019. I have checked again this morning and the funds have still not arrived, for both myself or No 1 Simpsons I haven't communicated with Benview yet.

PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON AND GET BACK TO ME ON THE TWO EMAILS THAT WERE SENT YESTERDAY. THIS IS MORE THAN DESPERATE, I HAVE NO MONEY TO PAY MY MORTGAGE, GET HEATING OIL AND LIVE. I HAD TO CANCEL ALL SOCIAL ENGAGEMENTS LAST WEEKEND (BANK HOLIDAY) BECAUSE I COULDN'T AFFORD TO PARTAKE. THE LACK OF URGENCY FROM YOUR SIDE IS AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE

Just Received that from BDC.

3 days from 29th could be Friday 31st or Monday 03rd.

Thank Goodness my other half got paid yesterday so I am not totally stuck but it has left a foul taste in my mouth to say the least.

Any word on Pelham and Benview ?

My advice is to set up a private group on Facebook or whatsapp, as this is booking.coms site and anybody who is an employee or host can read your opinions.
Last year there was a delay in paying most of Europe. I got breakfast vouchers for my guests from booking as told them i had no money for breakfasts.
The problem is these companies are too big, make huge profits and dont care about hosts. They never ever care about you and there is no chance you will get any financial recourse from this. You just get stressed and like the employee said they have a team of lawyers ready to destroy you.

Keep your plans or ideas away from this platform as it belongs to booking.com.

Its pretty crap what has happened to you all, diversify everywhere you can.

Hi Holidayinskye, it was just bank holiday for the Monday. So was authorised mid afternoon on Friday so hopefully Thursday or Friday we should receive it. But what if it doesn't go through again. I have been promised a call back today from Finance but have heard nothing, so far. No response to emails sent yesterday or today. It is getting desperate here.

I am really shocked you guys still have not been paid!
I was paid by lunchtime last Friday just before the bank holiday. They made me wait 9 days.
One hotelier took them to court over late payment via small claims court. Booking.com did not send a company rep. And magistrate ruled in favour of guest house owner.
Just thought that might cheer you up.
Im waiting to see what happens on 15th June!

Hi Riveroflifeuk, yeah normally paid on the 11th so waiting 18 days now. I am all out on good humour. I just pray this third attempt goes through. Thanks for your message thou, and lucky you for being one of the hosts that got paid. I think most did but there is definitely three (me included) knocking around here that haven't :-(. Sent emails called zillions of times over the last couple of days but have heard nothing back. I hope no news is good news???

They did say to me on Thursday it was being done that day and in today. I think you said it was Friday you got message so yours should be there tomorrow. Let s hope so. Let us know.

Oh HolidayinSkye, that has given me a glimmer of hope. Yes I was told on the 24th May the Friday that they were going to re process the payment, so maybe I am a day behind. I have just called BC and the Finance Team in Amsterdam are on a Bank Holiday. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I am struggling to have any confidence in the system.

Pretty confident you will get your payment tomorrow or even after 3 today as that seems to be a time payments sometimes come in. But as there were only a small number of payments late isn't it possible, surely to make faster payments to avoid usual delay with Banks. Let's hope this is a one-off. Very nervous now for rest of the season as we only use Booking.com. and haven't had any previous problems.Thankyou for being in contact and helps feeling you are not alone in cases like this.

Hi Skye,

Im sure you have read it a few times on here. I was like you and 90% of our revenue came from BDC.

We have since diversified into Airbnb, IrishB&B's, HomeStay, Expedia to name a few.

While BDC still brings in roughly the same revenue, the other sites have filled our occupancy and our turnover is now double what it was when we were solely BDC.

Hope we can all keep in touch thru Facebook or WhatsApp to move our new found camaraderie to move positive feed.

Yes, 15th June fast approaches. I am doing my utmost to try and put some monies aside just in case as I ended up paying bank charges for nine days as I was overdrawn.

Has anyone else made a small claims against BC for late payment? I would be interested to know.

Lots of promises but the last message I got was that it was a problem with my bank. I have checked that three times over the last two weeks and there is no problem with my bank. I have only received two written messages the rest have been verbal on the phone although I have never been able to get through to the correct department - long waits for an hour or more and then cut off!!! I am at my wits end !! Have been with booking.com since August . This is the first problem. Feel very worried and uneasy

Juliette this is awful and god I am so sorry I don’t know what to suggest. I wish there was something constructive I could say. I would leave bdc but sadly all my bookings over the summer are with them and it’s quite late on the season to start a major change. One of the sad things is that many hosts and guests are unaware of the difficulties some guests go through. There is a guy who works for the daily mail as a financial investigator and whilst I don’t favour the daily mail I see that last year he communicates on behalf of someone who contacted him about bdc and they have some owed money finally. I will look further into it as I feel this inefficiency needs exposing particularly as no one from the company seems to be constructively communicating. I wonder how you are getting on today you must be emotionally drained as well as the financial drain and pressure.

Not sure if all my comments are being deleted I suspect they are. I am concerned that things may be going financially wrong for bdc. Have you been paid Juliette and others. I sent messages regarding compensation but no answer 6 days later. All my bookings for summer are through bdc so too late to make drastic changes for this year. Who else apart from Airbnb and HomeAway do people recommend.

I’m still keeping watch Hetty and I saw a few people this morning saying they still had not been paid. I was lucky enough to get mine, albeit very much later than agreed, in one of the first tranches. But I’m worried too for future bookings so have registered with another couple of sites (Expedia and HomeAway). I was already with AirBnB and they pay immediately after one night of stay. But I’m hoping I can dwindle the BDC bookings. Think that’s the way forward as BDC have been abominable and are obviously poorly managed to let this happen without bending over backwards to both pay people what they are owed and to make amends for the glitches in their system and breaches of contract with us all.

I have still not been paid. This is the third weekend and it is affecting everything. Thanks Hetty and others for asking after me. On Friday they sent me the payment details for the first transfer they made last month???? They know this failed spectacularly. I am going round in circles and spoke to most branches of BDC around the world trying to get this sorted.

Thanks there has been a delay in getting back to you all because of guest staying and my car failed its MOT so I have been busy getting that sorted out as well. As they say, if it doesn't rain it pours. I am going to my bank tomorrow morning to see by the information they have given me as to whether they can decipher what is going wrong. (But they have been paying into this account for the last months - nothing has changed my end, still monthly payments etc)cannot visit my daughters in London because of the additional expense and the worry of how much longer this is going on for.

I personally do not think they are in financial trouble but this is an IT problem that has gone spectacularly wrong. BDC Amsterdam Finance Dept where all this has kicked of should be ashamed of themselves.. They even had a mid-week bank holiday. No one should be having any time off until the seriousness of this situation is sorted out.

I can't believe that there are still people that have not been paid. So pleased to have had the week off for half term and not broke my back working, to then not get paid again.

Just caught up with all your correspondence and had wondered how a guest could've cancelled within 7 days of his visit and now I know why, will be changing my policy back.

I have opted to be paid weekly but I am still getting bookings to say that I will be paid on the 15th? I'm thinking that we wait until the 15th and then it happens weekly and that I will actually wait longer for my payments. Is this another scam to keep our money longer by BDC?

I have decided to look into taking my own payments so I don't pay the 1.3%. Has anyone looked into this yet?

Fingers crossed the money is there tomorrow for those still waiting.

This is scandalous and very upsetting and troubling.

I got paid over 2 weeks late and I found it very difficult financially to make ends meet while waiting for my BDC payment. I can imagine that Juliette at 4034600 Pelham Grove Bed and Breakfast is in the same boat.

Please action this immediately as it is totally unacceptable that some properties have not been paid for April. 4034600 Pelham Grove Bed and Breakfast is not the only property still waiting on Payments.

It is very unprofessional of Booking.com and certainly doesn't send out the right message to both partners and guests. We hold our breath that this does not happen again next month and until we have payment in our accounts I for one remain very sceptical of the company.

All very worrying unbelievable and extraordinary way to run a business. Hard to believe that they can get away with this *** has had some experience of making bdc pay up compensation owed to a guest He may be interested in this issue that is still going on. I will contact him but as with everything the more people that voice the issue the more chance of it being heard.

I know regarding me not being paid out (and the few stragglers) I think it just highlights their incompetence. They have been paying into this same bank account for the last 6 months. So how they can tell me and others that it is out bank is absolute BS. Nothing this morning, just going to bank this to show them what little information I have been given with regard to the information they have given me for the FIRST payment they made?? back in early May and then I am getting straight on the phone to them. Thanks Hetty I will definitely be emailing Tony Hetherington. And thank you to J Kenny and anyone else that has copied that email Khris drafted regarding my situation. I really really appreciate it.

Your emailed remittance advice from Booking.com is typically dated 3rd of each the month.

Can I suggest that we all check for its arrival, and if not received by tomorrow, 4th, immediately start asking questions?

If we begin now, maybe we can ensure a timely payout (around 8th) and receipt in our accounts on 11th or 12th.

I got a call from the Amsterdam office of BDC yesterday afternoon, following my email re Juliette and the issue of compensation that we all expect to see as a gesture to restore confidence in the partner relationship.

He seemed genuinely interested and apologised a number of times on BDC behalf. He agreed that the lack of communication only served to compound the issue for so many of us. The emails that blamed us and our banks were also deeply regretted by him and said it was absolutely no way to run a company and to maintain mutually beneficial relationships. I said that right now i feel bullied and that the current arrangement seems to benefit BDC in the first instance and the Partners are a distant second thought.

I told him the issue of compensation was not up for discussion and that the return of our April commissions would probably meets the demands of many of those on this forum. I made it clear I was not speaking for everyone but that position seemed to be most likely and fair way to reach a swift resolution to the matter.

I will keep the forum updated with anything further that comes my way.
