last minute no pay

Hi

Got a last minute booking. After booking they realized that they could not pay with credit card and that was the only way they could pay they said. So they maild that they wanted to cancel, but they didm't cancel official.  We told them they could pay cash at the appartement. 

Told them that hey still had to pay(see our policy) and if they don't show it will be a no show and they will still have to pay.

no reply.

How to proceed

If you only take cash and they are a No Show then there is nothing you can do to collect payment.  They do sound unreliable and presumably can't afford to pay cash which is why on credit card, so probably won't show.  Make sure you mark reservation as No Show if they don't, otherwise you will get charged commission.

If you want them to cancel officially then this is process

  • Extranet
  • Reservations
  • Reservations Details Page
  • Right Pane, Request To Cancel
  • Choose option 2, submit
  • Wait for guest to receive email with action to confirm

Have you thought about getting booking.com to process your payments?  Makes life a lot easier and no more no shows as they will still get charged.  Small fee per booking.

I tryed to cancel them yesterday but it was a last minute booking and with in 48 hours of arrival so I couldn't use that option, I got that I had to contact service desk. Good luck vinding that. I have't found it yet.

I can mark the reservation as no show today ,( official they still have to pay me as I have a striked cancelling policy, I don't think they are going to )  But I got the impression that booking will still charge me as they don't know I didn't het payed.

 

I had been looking at booking to process the payments but then I klikt on something else to have a look and lost the information and could not find it again.

I think it is another day behind the computer
