Legality of refunding guests
Hi all, I have been reading the many unhappy comments regarding the unfair and bullish way bdc have given so called hotel partners no choice but to refund guests when a guest has booked a non refundable rate, and have given no option to offer another date to the guests even if they would like this option. So my question is does any hotel partner remember agreeing to this at the time of so called signing the bdc contract, as I for one did not knowingly agree to that, and I would be interested to know how this is actually worded to cover such an event, and if infact it is legal to do this. If you know anything about this or not I think we should make our views heard. I would also like to know if others are interested in a crowd fund to fight this?
I totally agree. I am ready to sign a petition or some kind of union so that we offer a unified front in our discussions with bdc.

Il existe déjà plusieurs versions linguistiques. Vous devez simplement l'activer. L'outil de sélection de la langue se trouve en haut à droite. Accédez simplement à la page Web que vous souhaitez en français, puis sélectionnez le français dans la liste des langues et la page Web se rechargera dans cette langue.

There already is multiple language versions. You simply have to toggle it on. Located top right is the Language selection tool.
Simply go to the webpage you want in french and then select french from the language list and the webpage will reload in that language.

Hi Sergei what about the costs to business for the transactions of one processing the payment and then refunding is this supposed to be a cost to us to? How is that fair so a guest booking a non refundable rate and gets there money back and we have to pay for that to?
Indeed, totally agree.
I have yet to see any of the payment gateway provider make any offers to lower or suspend transaction fees. sumpup.com, paypal, payrexx.com, strip.com, etc.

Hi Barry Reilly, it's really bad that the cost is down to us!!! We should at least be able to deduct the fees for a guests reservation as this is not our fault either. I'm sure guests would not be unhappy with this.

a significant % of them,
that actually are and don't give two skips about the provider.
Like I previously said in most of my bookings cancellations I found a lot of co operation from booked guests and agreed for future refund against future bookings with us with no expiry date. Bdc cannot help with this they told me. So when everything is plain sailing ok to charge me 18% commission but when we're all sinking including bdc at the moment we're not finding the back up of bdc.

I haven't yet checked the terms of the contract in a situation such as we're in today. I absolutely agree with you regarding the booking decision to cancel bookings without having any decision-making power . Other alternatives exist before proceeding with the refund. I am interested in a mob fund to combat and I am preparing a petition. Before publishing it, it would be a good idea to have it checked by other owners so that everyone can give their opinion. But I don't know how to do that. Would you be able to advise and help me please

I signed this petition, but I think I'll have a very good case for it. I think BOOKING is backed by some very strong attorneys I wanted to create a new one and propose alternatives in case we didn't win. - No systematic cancellation - postponement of the trip for Guests obligatory - Exemption of the BOOKING commission for a period of time (to help us start again).
I'm sure they do have good attorneys behind them big firms with money always do but we still have a voice, I think that's a great idea to start another petition regarding choices rather than just cancel

If you will create a petition and you can do it in French it will be easy to use Google translate for others to fill out.
