New to Booking.. and this I didn't like. Part 3

CASH PAYMENTS

so, as we are a new listing, guests can only pay in cash... great, fantastic, very reasonable...

what if they do not show up?

why will someone bring such an amount of money in cash? (I rent an entire 9 bedroom property, so it's always a lot of money, despite the fact it's affordable per person)

why only to new listings?

have you heard of bank reviews? My house has been rented for over 12 years now. Ask my bank...

Booking.com will not listen to you .... they do not care .....

Ask Booking.com to set up Payments by Booking.com - guests will then have to pay at the time of booking, just like on AirBnB, TripAdvisor and HomeAway. If Booking.com refuse to do this, switch to AirBnB, TripAdvisor and HomeAway. Those sites will let you set up a bigger property, take payments online, take a damage deposit and set your own cancellation / refund rules. You might not get everything you want, but Booking.com probably won't provide anything you want.

thanks for answering ;). This is actually weird...  I have got my first rental through Booking (only few days after setting up the listing!). And it seems the guests will pay using bank transfer... so I don't really know why Booking states the opposite when configuring the listing... I was close to disable the ad! but I didn't and now I have my first customers coming from Booking.

So, thanks to whoever in Booking changed that rule ;)
