No Show

Hello,

I am confused about a reservation we had. We are new to booking.com. Someone booked our cottage, they never responded to text or email I sent them with check in and arrival info. Then they never showed up. So i put them in a s a no show. Do we still get paid? If not then I don't think booking.com is for us. Our cottage stays pretty full and we can't have dates blocked out, then a no show and not get paid. PLease Help.

same case for me. I got this experience 3 times. If it is so easy to book and lock a cottage for a certain time preventing any booking then I fully agree that booking is completely useless. ( competitors can easily lock the calendars of the whole neighborhood!)

This is a very common problem with Booking.com. In short, you need to take payment at the time of booking. just the same as happens with AirBnB / TripAdvisor / HomeAway. If you don't, then you have the very high risk of people booking and blocking your calendar and not showing up, which then costs you money. I have posted the solution for taking payments several times this week, and will paste it below again ...

You need to send a message to Booking.com via your Extranet and ask them to set up Payments by Booking.com

If they agree, you can go live - be aware that Booking.com will not collect damage deposits for you like with AirBnB/TripAdvisor etc - I've posted a partial solution for that many times ....

Booking.com may refuse to allow you to take payments via Payments by Booking.com. If so, keep your property closed and just use AirBnB / TripAdvisor / HomeAway instead. But don't give up, keep asking Booking.com to allow you to take online payments.

Booked 3 times, and all were no-shows. I could not get pre-payment- people were prevented from booking because of the instant confirmation booking :(- easy for a competitor to block your calendar with fraudulent bookings.
