Payment and Discounts

Dear Colleagues,


I am not sure whether this is the right topic but I will try my luck.

 

I have got a couple of questions:

 

1. How would I deactivate the mobile (smartphone) discount once it's been activated ? I have looked everywhere and there is no option for deactivating that discount. Any suggestions ? 

 

2. Some owners have the "no prepayment needed" option activated but I am not able to find that anywhere. The only available option on my end is payment via booking.com. I have read loads of topics where other owners were complaining that they had issues with people not showing up but I am aware of the fact that there are many travellers who would prefer to pay on arrival. What do you guys think about this ? Is it worth giving it a try with the risk of having people who won't show up ? or it would be better to stick with the current option ?

 

I would really appreciate if someone could help me with some ideas/suggestions based on experience.

Hi George,

For your first question you will need to contact BDC themselves to switch it off. If you have any promotions on, make sure none of these are specified to mobile users.

The payment system will be your policies, cancellations etc. you are able to change it there.

Many establishments still have the no prepayment option, many have ditched it after receiving huge amounts of false an no-show bookings.

Another option is no pre-payment but no refund either, whether that be a partial or full charge. You will need to check the validity of the card in this case and then hope it's still good when the cause arises to charge for no-show or late cancellation. Some countries/banks also have the facility to reserve the cancellation charge to the card. That may be another option for you.
