we have a feeling or doubt that someone is intentionally booking and either cancelling just before or with no show .
by this our dates are getting blocked and we are not getting other customers too.

By all means message the guest and ask for a deposit , and either send your IBAN details or a payment link /invoice , e.g. tradeshift.com, paypal.com etc
