Payments

Prefer payment, MINUS the commission via bank transfer ie. AIRBNB, HOMEAWAY etc.

Payment is up front from guests to BDC but booking partners receive payment after checkout....MINUS the commission.

Booking.com would deal with the guest directly....receive their fee up front and bank transfer the balance to the booking partner once the guest has checked out.

Acushla54,

Sorry, but your post makes no sense.

Are you getting payments for bookings from BDC? Or this is something that you want?

From what I know, not all regions have this option opened, payments are made by sending you a Virtual Card, which you can charge (maybe you can ask them to wire the money, but unsure they will) and all prepaid bookings will not have the commission included, it will be stopped at the source (BDC).

Hope it's what you were looking for.

We receive the booking and the guest's credit card in INTEGRAPAY. The rate is processed by us. Then we are billed and direct debited the commission fees once a month.

We would prefer payment as electronic transfer with the commission taken before we receive the payment. If at all possible Ie. similar to AIRBNB and HOMEAWAY

I understand what you are saying as I am also with Airbnb. Far better payment system as they take ALL payments. So guests can pay via credit card to them and then they pass on the payment to the host after checkout, Less their service fee. So means you dont have to have a POS at property etc. You can also see the money has been received by Airbnb and sits waiting in account till paid out after guest leaves. By far the best system. I prefer guest to pay immediately via CC but cant afford cost of POS system at home. So Booking.com only allows me to "get paid by cash" from guest, but I dont want cash, but it shows to guests that how they are to pay and yet I can also state on one of the policies that guests are to pay via Bank Transfer. So very conflicting information for guest.

Thanks for the comment Donna.

It would be beneficial to BDC as they would have the funds sooner and more immediate

Have just listed with booking.com in the last couple of weeks. Prior to joining I was online and as I reside in Ireland the information stated that all payments were taken by booking.com at the time of booking and I would receive payment within 7 days of the guest check out less the commission to booking.com. Unfortunately my first booking was 10 days ago and I have not received any payment even though I had a message from credit control advising me that I would be paid by the 18th which was not within the 7 day time limit. Airbnb pay out the next day which is a much better system for small time business. I am trying at the moment to have my payment changed to direct transfer at the time of booking to my own bank account. I have spent most of yesterday and this morning trying to contact different departments within booking.com to try and chase this payment. Has anyone else had issues like this and how did it get sorted

I agree that Booking.com should receive payments up front on our behalf and remit our portion to us after the guest checks in as Airbnb does. I have too many cases where Booking.com potential guests cancel at the last minute without our receiving any deposit.
