Much preferred payment. Not sure how commission is processed yet as I am new to this style of payment

The payment process is same as normal. Hotel will have to kick back commission to Booking.com later.

Booking.com deducts commission before crediting my Bank account.

I don’t have to do anything...everything is done by BDC.

This solution is very frustrating and helpful.

Oh for my hotel we have to charge full amount include commission then Booking.com will invoice us for commission fees.

MA is talking about BDC Collect payments, where you don't take money from the guest but are paid by BDC later.

1 booking.com reports reflect zero transactions for the week when we have had many. By the time booking.com reply the report has changed.

2 Reservation by check out totals never agree with the payment by finance (payment may be correct but reports should match.

3 Report says payment being processed when the payment has been made...Reports say payment made when it has not.

4 On occasion you don't get a weekly payment as payments can take one day or 10.5 days. We pay a premium commission to have a weekly payment.

5 Where clear copies of discrepancies are sent to booking.com they still say it is correct with no explanation as why they reach that conclusion... then the actual payment is correct but the report wrong

6 Many examples but booking.com system does not support copy and pasting

m

Merrifieldgareth 4 years ago

current dispute is missing payment where they have paid most recent but missed the previous payment completely

And no communication from them....apparently the person completing payments has the highest authority in the business and reports to nobody according to a phone call

Yes payments by booking.com where it is automatically transferred to your bank account after booking.com have deducted their commision etc is brilliant.

It takes all the stress away, you know guests have paid, it reduces their running costs too as they are not having to chase us owners/managers for payment either...

So why have they since March stopped this service for new listings?

All it has done is create a nightmare for me. I manage over 40 properties,  all listed before March I have no hassle with as they are on payment by booking.com

All since are a nightmare.  I keep being told I need to register as cash,  and run as such for at least 3 months to be offered payments by booking.com.. but that's impossible for me as I cover a 50 mile radius with all properties set up as self check in/out

Surely as an existing partner (for almost 3 years) we should automatically qualify for the same payment system our other properties are set as.

I'm sure all these other options have created more costs to booking.com also.

Yes offer guests their wide range of options to pay.

Then offer us partners two options..

1, payments by booking.com, where all deductions are taken prior to transfer to our accounts

2, processing our own payments, where booking.com then invoice us for the commission etc.

That's it... the main rule of business.. K.I.S.S.

Keep It Simple Stupid.

I know that booking.com has new ownership and I agree offering a wider variety of options for guests to pay will increase sales.... but booking.com could supply these options to make it easier and more efficient for all.

I had exactly the same issues with multiple properties and being told we are not trusted, so adding a new property would be cash only. Therefore only 3 of the properties we own and manage are listed on BDC. The others are all listed on TripAdvisor, HomeAway and AirBnB, no problem at all.

I did fight to get the 3rd one set up for Payments by Booking.com, but it was a BIG fight, very hard work. I made the point that BDC not trusting us made us feel like BDC were treating us as criminals. Eventually, BDC relented and set it up for Payments by Booking.com.

If this was the only issue / problem with Booking.com, I would fight to get others listed, but this is just the tip of the iceberg ....

BDC do not allow any credit for the same veteran host of good standing opening a new/extra property. Each new property is considered a new account.

This is, of course, extremely annoying and difficult to justify......"computer says no".

We are not prepared to use the BDC Collect system for cash flow reasons, it's just too slow.

Therefore, the property we listed with them last year has since been removed from BDC, they have handed their main competitor....erm....no competition!

So sorry guys to hear about your struggles...

fluff, ....each new property is considered a new account.... this same problem had Katerinka12 and it was very frustrating for her, she was waiting for 3 months and still BDC had not verified her new property.

I only have one property so things are much easier for me I guess.

Take care.

Its great to hear that most people like the BDC payment system and I am one of those too. The problem I have with the system and this is where I think BDC needs to up its game, is the speed of payment. Being a homestay accommodation provider, we much prefer Airbnb where payment is released after every stay. I don't mind waiting the month but now BDC is imposing a 2.2% charge for the privilege of handling payments surely they now need to align themselves with the competitors payment methods.

yes and they wait a full ten days after check out to get that money to you, so not only do they scoop off their booking fee, but then they have the benefit of holding millions of Euros and earning interest rather than geeting it to the hosts. Its the hosts money! other industry platforms send the money 12 hours after check in.  Booking do not care about their hosts at all.

Totally agreed Amanda. I am not sure how they are getting away with it? What I find even more annoying is that guests sometimes check in on let's say the 28th of August, and then check out on the 1st of September. This means you only get paid out mid-October. Boggles my mind...

Yes I think I will delist my rooms from Booking for this reason.. and also because there is no way to call them and check on  upcoming payments on the system.

They are getting away with it because we let them.

I'm with Amanda, we have already blocked out the dates from our last booking in November, so we can close BDC and just concentrate on Airbnb. BDC clearly focuses on larger accommodation providers and has only taken on the smaller ones to have some of the Airbnb market. The one size fits all policy around payment is something they should surely address.

Dear partners you can select to get payments 4 times a month.

BDC payments are secure and always on time...

It works for me and I am thankful.

They are not always on time for us and on occasion have not even been paid (within 11 days)

Yes M, I believe that a 4 times a month is now possible, but information on this has been extremely scarce. I have since opted in for this, but what does it mean? 4 times a month in the same month of the actual stay of the guests, or also the following month? Do we have to pay even more commission for this option?

This is the same as in the extra 2,1% for payments by BDC. Not a lot of info was given from the get-go. (Will the extra percentage be taken from the total booking amount? Will local taxes be added?) It's all very vague.

Another thing BDC needs to remember is that most establishments will ultimately pass this extra fee to the guest. This is a fee that most booking platforms do not add. Thus making the room charge more expensive on BDC in comparison to other booking sites. If guests start shopping around, which is really easy nowadays, BDC will ultimately start loosing out on commission.

doesnt make any difference Anthony because I selected that option of payments four times a month  and its written on my payment agreement  4 times a month,, yet they write underneath10 business  days ive been waiting 11 days so far since guest,   checked out.

We've been collecting payments for all your reservations since 02 September 2019.

You'll receive a bank transfer 4 times a month. After a guest checks out, you'll get paid by bank transfer within 10 business days. To learn more about Payments by Booking.com, check out many helpful resources like FAQs and tutorial videos in the Partner Help Center.

so obviously booking.com believes there are  40 days in a month ??

Hi All, Does anyone has the contact number directly from the finance team in Amsterdam?

Booking.com was collecting the booking payments for us from our guest for a period of time of 3 months, and they were supposed to deposit this founds into our bank account on the 15th of each month.

I keep received emails saying that my bank account has an error and they couldn't transfer the founds. So I have provided different bank accounts inclusive from different banks and they keep sending me the same error email.

I keep trying to contact customer service but the say that they can't give any solution and keep referring me to the finance team in the extranet, no body there does nothing ether and basically no solution till this stage.

It has definitely not been a great experience as a new partner, very disappointed, we still haven't been paid once.

I appreciate your help.

Does BDC only pay into bank accounts, or can you request they pay into a credit card account?

They ask for bank details including IBAN number - better to get the money in your bank account anyway and then you have the choice of how much to pay into a credit card account
