Policies: Credit card exceptions, why non-refundable rate displayed?

Salam to all!

I have a question about the Credit card exceptions policy. Yes, this is a good policies, which allows the local guest to book without providing a credit card details when its last minute reservation. I have no issue with that.

But question is, why booking.com displays non-refundable rate which logically is cheaper then standard rate (standard rate - free cancellation before 7 days of arrival) to those guest who would like to make a last minute reservation without providing a payment method? By making a reservation without payment method non-refundable rate does not make sense anymore, cause actually is free cancellation (cancel anytime) policy since no credit card has been provided.

I could not find any area where I could fix this. Anybody has any thoughts?

Dear Aziz,

You can do the following:

1. Stop using the exception rule (which i strongly suggest you do)

2. Remove the non-refundable rate

The issue is that the credit card for locals exception applies globally, you cannot choose the rate types for it to apply to, so only the above 2 methods work.

Hi, thanks for the response.

What do you mean by "Stop using the exception rule (which i strongly suggest you do)" ? Could elaborate on this?

removing the non-refundable rate is not an option, cause there will be no difference between standard 7 days free cancellation and non-refundable cheaper reservation.

Cheers.

Dear Aziz,

You wrote that yourself:

I say, don't use it anymore because it will not work the way you want it to in relation with the NRF rate.
