Reservation cancellation
Hi,
Could you please cancel the reservation under the name of *** *** the confirmation number is ***. The client reserved for 1 night on the 8 of August. Please refund the client's deposite on to their credit card.

Two things here and one contradicting.
1. Please refund the client's deposite on to their credit card. What deposit ? Booking will never take a deposit, only you can do that directly with the Guest.
2. Cancellation Self Service
You must do it yourself in the reservation details page.
First notifiy Guest by message, and how they must action the next message by clicking confirm/agree. and that Full refund will be triggered once they complete the action.
Now on same details page, click on Request To Cancel, choose option 2.
Now wait for guest to action the notification.
Its that simple, and no relocation invoice.
However if the Guest decides to ignore you and contacts BdC, or you piss them off, then once they engage BdC Support themselves, they will be relocated and you will end up having to pay a relocation invoice.
So fair warning , be smart about it.
