Someone booked my entire property and will not show up

Hello,

When we opened the property, the rates for all december were the same, until we changed it, but in the meantime, someone made a reservation and we canceled because rates were too low for that period. We changed the rated and the customer that made the first reservation got frustrated and booked all the property for the new years evening and he will not show up. He booked it because we have free cancellation and he'll cancel in about 2 weeks

What should I do next? I know he'll not show up because he said, but now my property has no rooms available until he cancels. How can I cancel his bookings and block him?

Hello Gavris Sebastian Ioan! Thank you for your post! It is not possible to cancel a reservation, if the guest is not violating any of the terms and conditions of your property or the company. In addition, it is not possible to block a guest from making a reservation at your property. I would advise you to contact us via your Extranet Inbox providing the reservation number in order to be able to discuss the issue further with you! Best regards!

Any time that you open your property for bookings without taking payment at the time of booking, you are putting yourself and your property at risk of fraudulent bookings, fake bookings, no-shows and malicious bookings like this.

Other OTAs like AirBnB require payment at the time of booking. This stops most of the above problems. Do the same as with other OTAs. Ask Booking.com to set up Payments by Booking.com. I keep posting this many times per week now, so use the Search in the community to find Payments by Booking.com

Woah, it certainly is possible to cancel a booking when you know or have reason to suspect its malicious, etc.

  1. Go to admin portal
  2. Click on Inbox , then Booking.com messages
  3.  On right pane under Contact Us, click to expand it down and open out, there you will see the support contact us phone number.
  4. Give the support advisor the reservation number and explain the situation.
  5. Once it is cancelled go into the reservation and choose to report guest and select block from future bookings.

- Of course it is a violation of the Property Terms & Conditions! Did you really just say that out loud ,

In addition, it is not possible to block a guest from making a reservation at your property.

- also incorrect, once I booking is made you can contact BDC to cancel on the grounds of your property T &C does not allow fake or malicious bookings, then block that guest from future bookings. I have seen that feature first hand and have used it also.
