Suspicious Reservation(s)

Hi, we have had a series of bookings for between 8 to 12 days. On the first two bookings, one was cancelled just before the date on the cancellation and the other was just a no-show. These are being booked during our busiest time and I have very reasonable suspicions about the next one due to similar names in the bookings.

What can I do?

I had the same problem - I can only accept cash payments. So now I only open up rooms for B.C. a few days at a time - never in advance.

The majority of our customers come from AIRBNB - excellent payment system if you can't accept credit cards.

I used to have the same problem when I could only do cash transactions.  Luckily booking.com now process payments here in New Zealand.  Since then I haven't had any no shows or late cancellations.

Keep checking with booking.com to see if they do the same in your area and if not check again every few months.  You do have to wait for a monthly payment but so much easier and more reliable.

Get on a prepayment system. AIRBNB is great for prepayment if you can't accept credit cards.

As if to prove my point, the cancellation came in last night. Just before the cancellation window. Now I have a 12 day gap for the room.

I can accept credit cards, but booking.com processes my payments and they showed no inclination to help in this situation
