Unauthorised transaction

I manage two properties with the Apt. To make a booking Guest needs to give his card details so I can charge it on the days of booking or 14 days before arrival. 

What do you do when the transaction is not authorised and Guest asks you not to cancel? I want to be flexible and I usually agree for the Guest to pay in cash upon arrival but what if he will not show up? I am loosing reservations and I basically can't do anything.

Fellow hotelier,

What you do is mark the credit card invalid in the extranet, this will prompt BDC to ask for a valid one from the guest.

There are so many systems in place that you don't use, which help you avoid a lot of situations.
