VAT number invalid
Hello,
I just got an email saying that I must go to Finance > Vat details and add my vat number. My vat number was there originally, but was "lost" after some changes in Booking.
When I click YES, I have a VAT number, and add my VAT number, it says it's not valid. I typed my VAT number here https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/vatResponse.html and it works perfectly.
Specifically it's EL (Greek VAT number), and the VAT number is ***. I've tried to put as input:

*** Everything says to be invalid... I have to do this until 30/5/2020 and no one picks up the phone on booking!

Same issue here.
The VAT was provided (as it shows in your invoices you are sending).
VIES validates it but your system NOT! Now I have to engage with the support...
Booking.com fix your bugs and stop wasting our time!

Hi, I have got the same problem as well.
Same problem for us as well although our VAT is valid in VIES
I have the same problem, I received an email asking me to change the VAT number and when I go to the specific link to change it, it's always invalid.
I tried typing in 3 different formats:
but it's always invalid. I checked with the link provided https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/vatResponse.html and I could verify it without any issues.
Please advise.

Hello everyone! Thanks for flagging this problem. From what I managed to find out, it looks like some partners are facing this kind of difficulty. The good thing is that the product team is fully aware of the problem, and that our partners mention it in the Partner Community. So right now the team is working on the ways to solve it. It will probably take time.
So please let me know in the comments if you still see this problem after a few days.
The problem still exists, also for me.
This problem is still happening for me here in the UK. It says to input before 31 August 2020 and if I have "any questions, we recommend that you contact your tax advisor or accountant." but its no problem on our side of things its Booking.com's issue
The problem still exists on 22/5.

The recent news I can share is that the developers team fixed the bug for the Greek market. And the product team is making sure our connection to VIES works smoothly. The final testing maybe will take a little more time.
