Cooking facilities in bed and breakfast
Hi this is my first post on the forum. I own a small bed and breakfast that I purchased with my husband about 18 months ago. The previous owners let the guests use bbq facilities and offered plates microwave etc and utensils to guests in the dining area. Ive always been a bit reluctant as I feel this is a bed and breakfast and not a self catering apartment.
Id like to know ppls thoughts on this as I would really like to take away this option as ppl just abuse it and even ask to use a cooker sometimes! Im tactful but trying to tell people no , they look at you in disbelief as if they should be allowed to use all these facilities.
Also I have recently had some terrible guests, one of which even had the audacity to go into my private laundry room and help herself to all my lovely guests towels!. We live in an apartment upstairs and we have notices etc which areas are private etc, people just dont seem to care and its really getting me down to the point where I am seriously thinking of selling up. I find I am being taken for a ride by people who just abuse my hospitality.
Many years ago I worked in hotels and yet these days I am overwhelmed by the rudeness and disrespect people have and their demands sometimes are ridiculous!
Sorry for the rant but Im really over it all and even though we have had amazing reviewis and awards since taking over I feel I have aged so much and become a miserable person always moaning to my poor husband lol.
