Problems with Double Bookings/Genius??

Hi All, I would like to know if anyone else is having trouble with Double bookings?? I have had quite a few and they seem to be coming from the Genius site??  This is becoming very annoying as I was under the impression that once an apartment is booked on the calendar is automatically blocked off?? Yet I seem to becoming across this quite often!!

Hi, since today we share the same problem.

The last 7 days I've got two overbooking. After talking with the help desk they told me that in January I put the availability from 0 to 1. Though I have only one apartment. How stupid. And after ten hours they didn't offer any solution to solve the problem.

how did you solve the problem? I was looking for canceling button but didn't found it. If the customer is allowed to cancel a reservation I do have the same conditions. In my opinion.

Have to call them back.

Not only is the system taking over bookings but also it's ignoring my minimum stay settings and is accepting single night bookings. Trying to get in touch with them is crazy - any ideas.?

As I find it too expensive to call, I have learnt to effectively use the email system.

Go to 'inbox, then ' messages'. Then scroll down on the right side and click on the blue button that says 'Compose a new message'. Select 'topic' and 'subtopic (where applicable, and write your message. Once you send it, you will see an auto response that says you will get a response with a day, or two. Generally this works for me.

If you cannot wait that long, I suggest that you go to (NOT the extranet), and on the front page scroll down to the very bottom. Look for this sentence:

"Whoever you are, whatever you want, we’ve got the perfect place for you. Our 28,634,184 listings include 5,387,217 listings of homes, apartments and other unique places to stay, and are located in 134,821 destinations in 227 countries and territories. B.V. is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and is supported internationally by 198 offices in 70 countries."

Click on the '198 offices, and look for the support office nearest to you. I am in Jamaica, and were not listed in the Caribbean section, so I simply call the USA, and got through.

If you have previously called, or sent an email, and have been frustrated by the response of the agent, remember this - not all agents are created equal!! A few will leave you frustrated, but many of them are efficient and extremely helpful. If you are not satisfied, call back or write again. You will certainly get another agent, and often the results are amazingly different!
