Guest vetting

Hi, why doesn’t booking.com allow hosts to see previous guest reviews? I find this quite disconcerting that us hosts who spend a great deal of time and effort making our accommodation look nice,  have no control to who stays? Would be interested to hear other people’s views? Thank you

Hi Emma and welcome to the Partner  Community.

I agree with you. It would be very useful if we could know our guests before arriving.

We would feel more safe especially us small owners.

I send them personal emails before arriving so I can have some contact with them.

It helps knowing their needs and reactions.

Wish you a good day.

I also agree completly. We have just had a Polish construction company book a gite for 3 people, 12 turned up on occasions, moving beds and matresses from room to room. They left it in a disgraceful condition even defecating in the shower, and threw  their food waste inc chicken bones onto our garden. booking.com have said it is down to me to claim from the person who booked. I have made complaints and sent pics but no reply so far from client or booking.com. Their customer help line is not functioning.

Hi Adrian and welcome on board.

So sorry to hear about guests bad behavior.

Support team will not help you with this.

Maybe if you make your policies more strict you can avoid such behaviors.

Wish you all the best.

I don't think changing our policies will do anything with Polish workmen who speak no English or French. They totally disregard and disrespect all rules and properties. If booking.com allowed us to see reviews and block these type of cliets  then maybe these situations could be avoided.
