Reviews Awards

Does anyone else think it is weird that the Awards are for 3 years of reviews. I can not think of any other award that runs over 3 years. Maybe this years Oscars should be for 2021 to 2023. I have reviews complaining about animals that are dead or staff who left years ago. How can this be relevant to running a hotel now? Whoever decided that reviews should be over 3 years seems to have little grasp of the realities of running a hotel-especially after covid 19 has destroyed large parts of the industry.

Well 2020 the whole world was in shutdown basicly so it's only of the past 2 years (2021/2022)

No. Reviews are valid for 36 months now. It was only 30 months ago that Covid hit. Reviews from pre-covid are still on ypur listing. It is kind of what I am talking about- the world has changed for everybody but booking.com are still living in tbe timesbefore Covid. Just to make it more difficult for everybody to come back from Covid they have extended the time reviews are kept for from 24 months to 36 months so their awards are now for the last 36 months.

So review are covering 2020,2021 &2022. Don't see the problem. Google and tripadvisor keep them longer online

Reviews stay on your reviews page for 36 months, indeed. The purpose of this decision was to help all our partners as not many reviews were received during the challenging times you mentioned.

  In my case I have a neighbour who I compete against. I invested money in my business, bought out a partner who was misbehaving and causing bad reviews and increased the facilities available to my customers while my competitor has done nothing. My customers love it and this season I have been getting great reviews but my score is still  affected by old reviews from 3 years ago. I operate on a 6 month season which is nearly finished and because of the reviews about my ex partner I am still on a similar level as my competitor. The old reviews from pre covid are still hurting my business even though I have worked and spent hard to improve it. Your company seems to want to have it both ways.You openly encourage us to analyse our reviews and improve our business as I have, but then you take away the improvements by changing the time reviews are kept for and  reducing our review scores with obsolete reviews.
