Guests information

Hi everyone,

I just joined BC and have a question: is it required or suggested for us to make a copy of our guests ID? Certain platforms have a device that allows to scan the ID on the phone, and the information gets instantly uploaded (somewhere, don´t know where).

Hello there,

Well I don't think it's a requirement.

Our properties have a security gate at the front of the property and a reception area that checks the ID/Passport against the confirmation letter. I issue a seperate confirmation letter with all the booking details and the ID nr on it for that purpose specifically. But we don't scan the ID booklet or anything like that.

Hi, am thinking about renting my place on booking.com, but I assume that guests don't have their own reviews or ratings (as they do with Airbnb). Is this the case? I would rather know that they are trustworthy before letting them stay.
