How do I turn off instant bookings?

Hi John,

 

When you were signing up and in the How Does It Work Videos, you agreed to  automated bookings once you maintain your Availability Calendar.

 

i.e. based on what the Extranet availability Calendar has available, will be booked when the Guest books on the main website.

 

So there is no such thing as turning off instant bookings.

 



TIP: install the pulse app from your phone app store to help see notifications on the go.

 

 


Message or Call BdC PartnerSupport

  1. In the extranet, go to the ‘Inbox’ tab.
  2. Select ‘Booking.com messages’.
  3. Right Pane - Click on ‘See Contact Options’
  4. Choose Account
  5. Now choose Other
  6. Then at bottom , See all contact options, and click Message or Call
  7. As there is no one number for all partners, the number for your nearest BdC Partner Support is then revealed.

oh if you are new , be careful of the calendar having open status before you are ready to accept bookings.

 

e.g. if you think you need 3 weeks from now, go set that date range to CLOSED immediately.

Oh ok thank you Brooke.Ave yes that's a great idea.

I already got smashed by that one, and now I am getting a lot of one night stands, which doesn't give me enough time to clean the place after each of them.

I am hoping to at least get some notification before the next night gets booked so I can get in and clean the place and set it all up with new linens and shit.

I don't know how to setup my email to tell me when I receive an email and booking.com doesn't message my phone, so I don't even know when my bookings are coming in ... and they're coming in on the day the people want to spend the night!

It's killing me and I just want to take my property off the website for my sanity.

Appreciate you taking the time to answer me as I am a bit lost in this and having problems even finding anything on their website.

I think it's pretty sad that they can't even be stuffed answering our questions but instead they tell us to: ask other people like yourself.

People who get no pay, but yet are doing all of THEIR work.

Things to check if you cant get through to BdC support to review it for you.

 

  • Rate Plan : minimum nights set
  • Calendar : List View : Room Type : expand Rates and review Restrictions : Minimum Nights Stay value

 


You should already be getting some notifications but you can manage that in

Also reccommend installing on your phone , app store ' pulse' app, for push notifications of bookings and messages etc.


 

The reason that direct Partners to Partner Hub is because other that account and finance related topics, partners can generally help you quicker.

 

The crux though can be many do not properly share details nor complete their partner profile with the link to their  listing, so we are going in blind.

i have the same thought. we like to screen the guest before fully accepting the reservations.since we need to make sure that we get copies of their IDs and vaccination cards as required by building management.

cannot be done - I just called and they said it is not an option to cancel it..  I am taking my listing off BDC exactly for that reason.

Dear Kevin, I tried your fix, and it goes to -Not found, bad link. I'm from Canada and I'm new to the platform, I had been doing it on Airbnb for 4 years, so I'm not new to the concept. Airbnb changed a policy I didn't agree with so I left that platform. Instant booking may be fine for hotels, but for an individual, providing a homestay, where we live on the property, having instant booking can be a bit of a safety issue. We really need to vet guests. You can turn instant booking off on Airbnb, but why can't you do it on booking.com??? Can you suggest another solution?  I don't want to go live on the platform, until I get this issue resolved. Thanks for any advise you may have.

I've been using Bookingcom and Airbnb for some years now.What happended to me on Bkg is that somebody booked just one night at our rental house. Something went wrong somehow as our minimum is 6 nights.

Luckly I saw the booking in less than 30 minutes and appologiesed to the client, explaining that we coudln't offer just one night and would he please mind cancelling.

He did cancel with no apparent fuss or bother and got his money back from Bkg. Two years after that I received a recorded delivery letter from the Government Tourist Council in Spain which is where the propery and I live to say that he denunced me (reported me).

I replain in full detail and some months later got a second letter from the Government Tourist Council asking me to contact Bkg and get their explanation. Bkg said all they could do was to confirm fact, that is they refunded the money as quickly as possible.

None of this would have happened if instant book wasn't on.

So is there any solution? How do you actually talk to a real person? forums are great, but if there is no solution here, how do you take it to the next level? If they are forcing homestay hosts to instant book, and there are no possible exceptions to this, maybe booking. com isn't for me. Inflexibility in Airbnb was what caused me to leave. I was hoping it may be better here. I am a seasoned host and need to know that concerns I have about instant booking are heard. Anyone??? Help please.

Hello Everybody 

I could do it after spending hours on the laptop;-)

 

First you log in to your 
(do not copy the link below.... i just copied and pasted half of  my link)
but this where I did change it in EXTRANET

https://admin.booking.com/hotel/hoteladmin/extranet_

 

After you logged in 

 

choose  the advertised property that you want to change.( i have more adverts thats why I am saying to choose the one which you wish to change it)
 

and than click on Establishment (on the top middle section )

 

and choose CONDITIONS from the list  , In condition there are other topics you can change too. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page and it will be an options

How do you receive reservations?
 

here you can edit it, either  booking  instantly or reservation request

Do not copy the link that I pasted for an example..

 

but try  in your EXTRANET AND THEN CHOOSE PROPERTY

and in establishment ......CONDITIONS ......AND SCROOL DOWN ... i JUST DID IT RECENTLY TODAY

there is no option for conditions as you say. Just thinking maybe its a country thkig - what coutry are you in - maybe if I change the language to your country it will be an option....

I am in Spain.I just read that in one of the messages that , with old listing doesn't work...I put up my apartment in September and it works for me...send me your number if you want and i send a video on WhatsApp if you want to...

Nope. That option not available. I spoke to someone from booking.com regarding this and they said it’s not available any more. They had to go to their supervisor to find that out. Maybe diff countries have diff rules?

It is there for me I’m uk based  , but I think it may only be on new properties I have 6 listed.  5 out of 6 do not have it there under policies the newest most recent one does

I think you are right Jacky, for any old listings it may require relisting the entire thing to get this option....what a hassle. ABNB are much better in that sense

Agreed air are better in that aspect as relisting also means losing all your reviews which is a pain indeed
