If guests pay me in cash, does booking take their part from guest's credit cards?

So.. my guests will pay me cash when they get to my location, I want to know if booking charges them their part or I will have to pay booking somehow later?

Hi Jonatanjas.

Booking.com has a reservation list and you will see the exact list under the topic reservations.. Anyone that comes to your location pays and you contribute to B.com every month (commission) No matter how they paid, cash, card, online.

After every month you will be invoiced by B.com and then they take the commission from your account.

At least, this is how it works for me. Correct me if I'm wrong.

But if you have someone staying not being booked through B.com like a direct booking, then the cash is yours. We have that happen a few times a year, not often.

Hey Aaltje, thanks for your quick reply! Very helpful, I've got another question though

If all my guests pay in cash, how does B.com take their commission? Will I have to add my CC so they charge me?

And one more since you're here, if a guest pays with CC, how do I get my money out?

Hi Jonatan

B.com does all the work for you, so believe me, that is a lot! So, yes, they get all commission. They get it because you give them your bank account details and voila, it comes off, you don't have to do anything special.

And the same for your payment. If they have your bank account details then they pay you a few days later(depending on holidays weekends country where you live)

Always keep track of every payment done though, since mistakes happen.

Sometimes a card is declined and the guests have to find another card, or host have to ask for online payment which happened to me one time.

There are all sorts of exceptions as to how payments can go wrong, but solvable!

We live in this time and age where technology improves constantly, so B.com work hard behind to scenes to catch up.

I do also have my own fast-pay device. Guests slide card into device that is attached (or not when wireless) to my cellphone.

Make sure you have good reception at your place and tell people on your site how you prefer payments done.

But yes, no stay without pay, so also for commission. B.com should bring you the clients you need.

Any other questions, bring it on!

Wishing you lots of success with your adventure.

So it's fine that they decide to pay in cash? It's not against B.com  policy?
