Local law related: where to place the license number and where to find pre-authorization selection
Question 1: From the local act, that the host must post the authorized license number on the portal, but the digital numbers recognized as phone number format, is forbidden on any description page. So where shall i submit this license number?
Question 2: It is said from the forum that according to European Consumer Law, the pre-authorization selection need to be set. And it is under Property->Policies->Scroll down to the pre-authorization, but there is no Pre-authorization selection under Policies page. Is there something wrong on my page because my address is not verified yet?
Many Thanks!
2. Not sure what your referring to as I dont have it either. Pre Auth for what exactly ?
Dear Ginger Jiang & Barry Reilly, thank you for posting in the community! Regarding the first question, it depends on the country that your property is located. You can find it under Property > General Info "Please tell us your license number" or Property > Property Layout > Select edit under the room and you will have the option "Please tell us your license number". Regarding your second question, the pre-authorization is only for the properties that accept credit cards. If you are cash only property you will not see this option. Best of Luck!
Ah ok so if not using payments by bdc, pre auth is shown, good to know.
Increasingly this is an important issue in Canada - hosts MUST include their local licence on all platforms or be fined and shut down. I have tried to follow the instructions given and I simply don't have the prompts that are described!!!!.. no "Property Layout", no "please tell us...", no fine print.
Please help with this SERIOUS issue! Thanks.
Excellent, thanks so much to all!
For question 2, I think "all payments managed by Booking.com" is set as default under 'Finance'->'Getting Paid', that's why there is no pre-authorization for me. And by any chance, do you know where is the tab for credit card setup and what is the benefits other than the payments managed by Booking.com? (not urgent to me, maybe for the future newbies)
