You cannot cancel yourself you need to ask the guest to do it. Also good to personally message guest and explain and apologise.
then go into your Rates, Calendar - use List view and Bulk update to set to Closed until you are ready to open
I have messaged guest to apologize for the confusion, but did not get a reply.
If guest does not reply at all, and the property is physically not available on the date, what will be the procedure? Do I need to arrange a refund or will booking do that?
Have you tried to ring them? If guest does not reply you MUST contact booking.com help to ask them to contact. You can't just leave the guest to show up with nowhere to stay.
