Setting a 7-day minimum stay during peak season

I have listed my property but getting confused about issues I have with my reservations. I'm hoping, by being here, someone can clear my brain of this confusing fog.  For the months of July and August, in my calendar, I set a 'high Season rate and restriction 7-day minimum stay.  However, I am receiving reservations for 2 days only.  What am I doing wrong?  How do I set these dates to work?  I'm losing 5 days of bookings with this issue as people are booking for the weekend which interrupts the 7-day minimum stay.  I'm usually quite bright, although being the age I am, I wasn't reared on computers.  I am, however, following all the instructions given.  I came on this platform so that this venture would be hassle-free as I am working and really don’t have the time to dedicate to managing my apartment myself.

Hi there,

Do you see in your calendar that there is a minimum length of stay restriction of 7 nights for these dates, or not? If you have set up the restrictions as per the steps in this article, it should work. You might want contact customer service and ask them to check the Calendar for you if this is still an issue. Take a look at this article about how to reach them: https://partner.booking.com/en-us/help/support-contact/contact/understanding-how-contact-us

Thanks, I've managed to learn how to do it.  Took a bit of time to learn what to do but I got there in the end.

Thanks for replying. I have several price plans running, the usual standard rate, non-refundable rate, weekly rate etc. Ayamonte gets packed during July and August so I followed the instructions in the first article you mention.  Now the high season rate plan appears on my calendar with the 7-day restriction, but I am still getting 2-day bookings within these months at the standard rate. I will try your second linking and try and contact customer support.  Thanks again.

Hi @Sandra Ashton,

Hope you're well!

I believe you've already tried the following, right?

  • Exact stay:  In the list view calendar in the extranet you can add this to every (a specific date, for example, Saturday) in your calendar. When you insert the value '7' this will ensure that guests arriving on the date you mentioned must stay exactly seven nights.

I will check further with my colleagues for you. They will have additional insights on how minimum stays work across different rate plans.

In the meantime, have a great day!

....also remember that EVERY rate (not just room or WHY) must have its minimum stay set individually or the problem will continue.

In the list view Calendar, tick the box on the top left called "Restrictions" to see if the restriction is applied to all rate plans. If the Calendar is set to Monthly view, you can try to change it to list view from the button available in the top right.

Hi Sandra Ashton,

As promised, I'd also like to share with you what our availability team replied with:

If you only want reservations for at least 7 days, you need to put a Minimum Length of Stay restriction of '7' for ALL your active rate plans. So if a property has 2 rate plans, both of them should have the desired Minimum Length of Stay restriction.

If one/some of your rate plans do not have this restriction, guests can book them without needing to stay at least X nights.

I'm also reading above fellow partners already provided with useful insights on this. Happy to see this is figured out!

I hope this helps, too. Have a nice day ahead and thank you all for your input here!
