What is a "garden?"

I am trying to list a new property. It's a large house I just bought that I am turning into a simple bed and breakfast. The house sits on two acres, so I have a fairly large yard, but just grass, no flowers except for crape myrtles. I would never call it a "garden," but sometimes people use weird terms for things, so trying to figure out whether I have a "garden."

Also, there is a balcony that goes across the entire back of my house; none of the guest rooms open onto this balcony. Is it a "private" balcony since only guests at my house will use it or a "public" balcony since it is not exclusive to guests in a single room? (Same question for "private" vs. "public" garden).
